5.1. Basic Key Functions

Due to the 60% layout, some keys are accessed via the Function (Fn) key combinations:

  • Fn + [Key]: Refer to the keyboard's keycap legends for specific Fn layer functions (e.g., F1-F12, arrow keys, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down).

5.2. RGB Lighting Control

The keyboard offers various RGB lighting effects. Specific key combinations (often Fn + [key]) are used to cycle through modes, adjust brightness, and change colors. Consult the keyboard's printed manual or software for exact commands.

5.3. Programming Software

For advanced customization:

  1. Download the latest driver/software from the official EPOMAKER website.
  2. Install the software on your computer.

6. Hot-Swapping Switches

The SK61 supports hot-swapping Gateron optical switches. To replace a switch:

  1. Remove Keycap: Use the included keycap puller to gently remove the keycap from the desired switch.
  2. Remove Switch: Use the included switch puller to carefully grip the top and bottom clips of the switch. Pull the switch straight up to remove it from the PCB.
  3. Insert New Switch: Align the pins of the new Gateron optical switch with the holes on the PCB. Press the switch firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure the switch is seated correctly and not bent.
  4. Replace Keycap: Place the keycap back onto the new switch stem.

Caution: Only use 1-pin Gateron optical switches. Attempting to install other switch types may damage the keyboard.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps prolong the life and performance of your keyboard:

  • Cleaning Keycaps: Use the keycap puller to remove keycaps. Clean them with mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly before reattaching.
  • Cleaning the Board: Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from between switches. A soft brush or microfiber cloth can be used to wipe the surface.
  • Avoid Liquids: Do not expose the keyboard to excessive moisture or liquids.
