- To manually power off the device, press and hold the power button until the screen turns off.
6.2. Recording Modes
- Loop Recording: The dash cam continuously records video in short segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the MicroSD card is full, the oldest unlocked video segments are overwritten.
- Emergency Recording (G-Sensor): In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the built-in G-Sensor will automatically detect the event and lock the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. These files are stored in a separate "Event" folder.
6.3. Screen Functions
- The 10-inch IPS screen provides a wide, clear view of the road.
- The screen features auto brightness adjustment, adapting to ambient light conditions for optimal visibility.
- Touch controls on the screen allow for easy navigation through menus and settings.
6.4. Optional Rearview Camera
The 70mai Rearview Dash Cam Wide supports an optional rearview backup camera (sold separately). When connected, it allows for simultaneous front and rear recording and provides a wider field of view (up to 265° combined).
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device's screen and lens. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- MicroSD Card Management: Regularly back up important video files from your MicroSD card to a computer or cloud storage. Periodically format the MicroSD card (e.g., once a month) within the dash cam's settings to maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption.
- Firmware Updates: Check the 70mai official website or app for available firmware updates. Keeping your device's firmware updated ensures the latest features and bug fixes.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not power on. | No power supply; faulty cable/adapter; device malfunction. | Check power connection to the vehicle's 12V outlet. Ensure the USB cable and adapter are securely connected. Test with another power source if possible. If issues persist, contact customer support. |
| Video footage is fuzzy or unclear. | Protective film on lens; dirty lens; incorrect focus; low light conditions. | Remove any protective film from the lens. Clean the lens with a soft, lint-free cloth. Ensure the camera is properly focused (if adjustable). Night vision performance may vary in extremely low light. |
| Mirror shakes excessively. | Improper installation; loose straps. | Ensure the mounting straps are tightened securely around your existing rearview mirror. Re-adjust the device's position if necessary. |
| Device does not turn off automatically. | Continuous power supply; incorrect settings. | Check if your vehicle's 12V outlet provides constant power even when the ignition is off. If so, you may need to manually power off the device or disconnect it. Review power-off delay settings in the device menu. |
| Cannot connect to Wi-Fi via app. | Wi-Fi not enabled on device; incorrect password; app issue. | Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on the dash cam. Double-check the Wi-Fi password. Restart both the dash cam and your smartphone. Reinstall the 70mai App if necessary. |
