Setup and Installation
This deadbolt lock is suitable for doors 1-3/8 inch to 2-3/8 inch thickness.
Tools Required:
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Drill (if new installation)
- Measuring Tape
- Pencil
Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Door: If replacing an existing lock, remove the old hardware. For new installations, mark and drill holes for the cylinder and main lock body according to standard deadbolt installation templates. Ensure the door thickness is within the specified range (1-3/8" to 2-3/8").

Figure 2: Overview of lock components for installation.
- Install the Cylinder: Insert the single cylinder rim through the pre-drilled hole on the exterior side of the door. Secure it from the interior side using the provided screws that pass through the main lock body.

Figure 3: Exterior cylinder and keys.
- Mount the Main Lock Body: Position the main lock body on the interior side of the door, aligning it with the cylinder's posts. Ensure the latch bolt extends correctly into the door frame. Secure the main lock body to the door using the appropriate mounting screws.

Figure 4: Main lock body with screws.
- Install the Strike Plate: Close the door and mark the position where the latch bolt meets the door frame. Chisel out a recess if necessary and install the strike plate using the provided screws. Ensure the latch bolt smoothly engages with the strike plate when the door is closed.

Figure 5: Lock body and strike plate alignment.
- Test Operation: With the door open, test the locking and unlocking mechanism using both the interior knob and the key from the exterior. Ensure the latch bolt extends and retracts smoothly. Then, close the door and test again to confirm proper engagement with the strike plate.
Operating Instructions
Locking the Door:
- From the Exterior: Insert the key into the cylinder and turn it to extend the deadbolt. Remove the key.
- From the Interior: Rotate the mechanical knob on the main lock body to extend the deadbolt.
Unlocking the Door:
- From the Exterior: Insert the key into the cylinder and turn it to retract the deadbolt.
- From the Interior: Rotate the mechanical knob on the main lock body to retract the deadbolt.
Using the Night Latch and Holdback Button:
The night latch provides additional security by preventing the latch bolt from being pushed back from the exterior. The holdback button allows the latch bolt to remain retracted, keeping the door unlocked without needing to turn the knob each time.

Figure 6: Main lock body with night latch and holdback button.
- To Engage Night Latch: After closing the door and extending the deadbolt, push the small button (night latch) on the main lock body. This will prevent the latch from being forced open.
- To Use Holdback Function: When the door is open, push the holdback button to keep the latch bolt retracted. This is useful for temporary access without locking. To release, simply turn the knob or close the door.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the lock's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the satin nickel finish.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of graphite lubricant or a silicone-based spray to the keyway and the latch mechanism to ensure smooth operation. Do not use oil-based lubricants as they can attract dirt.
- Screw Tightness: Check all mounting screws periodically and tighten them if necessary to maintain security and prevent wobbling.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Key is difficult to turn or remove. | Lack of lubrication; debris in keyway. | Apply graphite lubricant to the keyway. Clean out any visible debris. |
| Latch bolt does not extend or retract smoothly. | Misalignment with strike plate; internal mechanism friction. | Check strike plate alignment and adjust if needed. Lubricate the latch mechanism. |
| Lock feels loose on the door. | Mounting screws are loose. | Tighten all mounting screws securely. |
| Night latch or holdback button not functioning. | Debris or wear in the mechanism. | Clean the area around the buttons. If issue persists, contact customer support. |
