5.1 Battery Installation
- Outdoor Sensor: Open the battery compartment on the back of the outdoor sensor. Insert 2 x 1.5V AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
- Main Unit: Open the battery compartment on the back of the main unit (refer to Figure 4). Insert 2 x 1.5V AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.

For accurate readings and optimal wireless transmission:
- Outdoor Sensor: Place the outdoor sensor in a shaded, dry location, protected from direct sunlight and precipitation. Ensure it is within the 60-meter transmission range of the main unit. Avoid placing it near large metal objects or electrical appliances that could interfere with the signal.
- Main Unit: Position the main unit indoors, away from direct heat sources, air conditioning vents, and direct sunlight. It can be placed on a tabletop using its integrated stand or mounted on a wall.
5.3 Initial Setup and DCF Signal Reception
After battery installation, the main unit will automatically attempt to receive the DCF77 radio time signal and the METEOTIME weather forecast data. This process may take several minutes or up to 24 hours, depending on your location and atmospheric conditions.
- DCF Time Signal: The radio-controlled clock will automatically set the correct time and date. A successful reception is indicated by a signal icon on the display.
- METEOTIME Forecast: The weather station will begin receiving professional weather forecasts for your selected region. The forecast data is updated several times daily.
Important Reception Advice:
- Maintain a distance of at least 1.5 to 2 meters from potential interfering devices such as computers, monitors, and televisions.
- In reinforced concrete buildings (e.g., basements, multi-story structures), the reception signal may be weaker. In such cases, place the device near a window or adjust its orientation to improve radio signal reception.
- Atmospheric disturbances are generally lower at night, often improving reception. A single successful reception per day is sufficient to maintain time accuracy.
