5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment cover located at the bottom of the handle.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
5.2 Initial Power-On
Press the 'SCAN' button to turn on the thermometer. The display will light up, and it will perform a self-check before showing 'Lo' or the last measured temperature.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Taking Body Temperature (Forehead Mode)
- Ensure the thermometer is in Body Mode (indicated by a human head icon on the display). If not, press the 'MODE' button to switch.
- Hold the thermometer 1.12 to 2 inches (3-5 cm) away from the center of the forehead.
- Press the 'SCAN' button once.
- The temperature reading will appear on the display within 1 second. The backlight color will indicate the temperature status (Green: Normal, Yellow: Light Fever, Red: High Fever).

6.2 Taking Object Temperature (Object Mode)
- Press the 'MODE' button to switch to Object Mode (indicated by a house icon on the display).
- Point the thermometer at the object whose temperature you wish to measure (e.g., baby formula, bath water).
- Press the 'SCAN' button once.
- The object's surface temperature will be displayed.

6.3 Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)
To switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, with the device powered on, long-press the 'MODE' button until the unit changes on the display.
6.4 Memory Recall
The thermometer automatically saves the last 32 temperature readings. To view past readings, press the '+' or '-' buttons when the device is on. The display will show 'M' followed by the memory number and the corresponding temperature.
