1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your Globber GO•UP Deluxe 3-Wheel Evolutionary Scooter with Seat. This product is designed to adapt to your child's growth, offering three distinct modes: ride-on with parental handle, walking bike, and stand-up scooter. It is suitable for children aged 15 months to approximately 6 years, with specific weight limits for each mode.

2. Safety Information

  • Adult Supervision Required: Always ensure children are supervised by an adult when using the scooter.
  • Protective Gear: Always wear a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads.
  • Weight Limits: The product supports up to 20 kg (44 lbs) in ride-on and walking bike modes, and up to 50 kg (110 lbs) in scooter mode. Do not exceed these limits.
  • Age Range: Ride-on and walking bike modes are for children from 15 months. Scooter mode is for children from 3 years.
  • Safe Environment: Use on smooth, dry, paved surfaces away from traffic. Avoid steep slopes, stairs, and uneven terrain.
  • Braking: Ensure the rear brake is functional before each use. Teach children how to use the brake effectively.
  • Regular Checks: Before each use, check that all locking mechanisms are secure, wheels are properly attached, and the handlebar and seat are correctly adjusted.

4. Assembly & Setup

4.1 Initial Assembly

The Globber GO•UP Deluxe is designed for quick, tool-less assembly. Refer to the diagrams below for visual guidance.

4.2 Changing Modes

The scooter can be easily converted between its three modes: Ride-on with Parental Handle, Walking Bike, and Scooter. The process involves attaching or detaching the seat and parental handle, and adjusting the T-bar handlebar.

  1. Ride-on Mode (15m+): Attach the seat and parental handle to the scooter deck. Ensure all connections click securely into place.
  2. Walking Bike Mode (15m+): Remove the parental handle, keeping the seat attached. The child uses their feet to propel the scooter.
  3. Scooter Mode (3y+): Remove the seat and parental handle. Insert the T-bar handlebar directly into the scooter deck. Ensure it is fully engaged and locked.

5. Adjustments

5.1 Seat Adjustment

The seat can be adjusted in 3 height levels and horizontally to accommodate your child's size and comfort. To adjust, locate the adjustment mechanism beneath the seat, press the release button, and slide the seat to the desired position. Ensure it locks securely.

5.2 Handlebar Adjustment

The T-bar handlebar has 4 adjustable height levels (67.5 cm to 82.5 cm). To adjust, locate the quick-release clamp on the handlebar stem, open it, slide the handlebar to the desired height, and securely close the clamp. Ensure the handlebar is firmly in place before use.

5.3 Steering Lock Mechanism

For beginners, the steering lock button on the front of the scooter deck can be engaged to prevent the front wheels from turning, allowing the scooter to move in a straight line. This helps children develop balance. To unlock, simply press the button again to re-enable steering.

6. Operation

6.1 Using Ride-on Mode (15m+)

With the seat and parental handle attached, an adult can push and steer the child. Ensure the child's feet are placed on the footrests (if applicable) or safely on the ground. The parental handle can be adjusted for comfortable pushing.

6.2 Using Walking Bike Mode (15m+)

With only the seat attached, the child uses their feet to propel the scooter forward, developing leg strength and balance. Ensure the seat is adjusted to a height where the child's feet can comfortably reach the ground.

6.3 Using Scooter Mode (3y+)

With the T-bar handlebar attached, the child stands on the deck and propels the scooter by pushing off with one foot. Steering is achieved by leaning. The rear brake is operated by pressing down on it with the foot.

6.4 Folding for Storage/Transport

The scooter features an easy folding mechanism for compact storage and transport. Locate the push-button mechanism (often near the base of the T-bar) and follow the instructions to fold the scooter. Ensure fingers are clear of pinch points.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the scooter with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Wheel Inspection: Regularly check wheels for wear and tear. Replace if necessary.

  • Scooter not steering: Check if the steering lock button (Figure 5) is engaged. Disengage it to enable steering.
  • Loose handlebar/seat: Ensure all quick-release clamps and locking mechanisms are fully engaged and tightened after adjustment.
  • Squeaky wheels: Clean wheels and axles. If the noise persists, lubrication may be required (consult a professional if unsure).
  • Brake not effective: Check for wear on the brake pad and the wheel. Ensure no debris is obstructing the brake mechanism.
