Important Safeguards

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including:

  • Read all instructions before operating this appliance.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or any part of the coffee maker in water or other liquids.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off,” then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

Setup

Before First Use

  1. Unpack the coffee maker and remove all packaging materials.
  2. Wash the glass carafe, reusable filter, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
  4. To clean the internal components, run a full cycle with only water (no coffee grounds). Discard the water and repeat once more.

Initial Setup for Brewing

  1. Place the coffee maker on a stable, level surface.
  2. Open the top lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the desired level indicated by the markings. Do not exceed the 12-cup maximum.
  3. Place the removable filter basket into its designated slot.
  4. Insert the reusable filter into the filter basket.
  5. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the reusable filter. A general guideline is one tablespoon of coffee per cup, but adjust to personal preference.
  6. Close the top lid securely.
  7. Place the empty glass carafe on the warming plate.
  8. Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. The LED display will illuminate.

Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee

  1. Ensure the coffee maker is set up as described in the 'Initial Setup for Brewing' section.
  2. Press the ON/OFF button. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin.
  3. Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the 'Keep Warm' function.
  4. To turn off the coffee maker, press the ON/OFF button again.

Programming the Delay Timer

  1. Set the current time using the HOUR and MINUTE buttons. Hold the buttons to advance quickly.
  2. Press the PROGRAM button once. The display will show “PROG”.
  3. Use the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set the desired brew time.
  4. Press the PROGRAM button again to confirm. The display will return to the current time, and the “AUTO BREW” indicator will light up.
  5. At the set time, the coffee maker will automatically begin brewing.

Pause & Serve Function

  • The anti-drip feature allows you to temporarily remove the carafe during the brewing cycle to pour a cup of coffee.
  • Remove the carafe for no longer than 20 seconds to prevent overflow from the filter basket.
  • Return the carafe to the warming plate to resume brewing.

Automatic Shut-Off & Keep Warm

  • After brewing, the coffee maker automatically enters a 'Keep Warm' cycle for two hours.
  • After two hours, the appliance will automatically shut off for safety.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Daily Cleaning

  1. Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Remove the glass carafe, reusable filter, and filter basket. Wash them in warm, soapy water or place them on the top rack of a dishwasher.
  3. Wipe the exterior surfaces of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  4. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.

Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal)

Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use.

  1. Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio).
  2. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Run a full brewing cycle.
  4. After the cycle, turn off the coffee maker and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Discard the vinegar solution and rinse the carafe and filter thoroughly.
  6. Run two full cycles with fresh, clean water to remove any residual vinegar taste.
