Setup Guide

1. Charging the Earphones

Before first use, fully charge your TV HearGear earphones. Connect the charging cable to the earphones and a USB power source. The indicator light will show charging status and turn off when fully charged. A full charge provides over 8 hours of battery life.

2. Connecting the Transmitter to your TV

The TV HearGear transmitter can connect to your TV using various audio output options. The most common and recommended method for high-quality audio is via the optical audio output.

  1. Optical Audio Connection:
    • Locate the "Optical Out" or "Digital Audio Out (Optical)" port on your TV.
    • Connect one end of the optical cable (often included) to this port on your TV.
    • Connect the other end of the optical cable to the "Optical In" port on the TV HearGear transmitter.
    • Ensure the TX/RX switch on the transmitter is set to "TX" (Transmit) mode.
    • Power on the transmitter.
  2. Other Connection Options: If optical is not available, consult your TV's manual for alternative audio output options (e.g., RCA, 3.5mm audio jack) and use the appropriate cables with the TV HearGear transmitter.

3. Pairing Earphones with the Transmitter

The earphones and transmitter are designed for easy pairing. Follow these steps:

  1. Ensure both the earphones and the transmitter are powered off.
  2. Press and hold the power button on the earphones until the indicator light flashes rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
  3. Simultaneously, press and hold the Bluetooth pairing button on the transmitter until its indicator light also flashes rapidly.
  4. Place both devices close to each other. They should automatically pair within a few seconds. The indicator lights will typically turn solid blue or stop flashing once connected.
  5. Once paired, the earphones will automatically connect to the transmitter when both are powered on and within range.

Maintenance

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No sound from earphones. Earphones not powered on; not paired; TV audio output not configured; transmitter not connected correctly. Ensure earphones are charged and powered on. Re-pair earphones and transmitter. Check TV audio output settings (e.g., set to External Speaker/Optical). Verify optical cable connection to transmitter and TV.
Earphones not pairing with transmitter. Incorrect pairing procedure; devices too far apart; interference. Ensure both devices are in pairing mode simultaneously. Place them within 1 meter of each other. Turn off other Bluetooth devices nearby. Power cycle both devices and try again.
Poor audio quality or static. Low battery; interference; out of range; improper ear tip fit. Charge earphones. Move closer to the transmitter (within 30 feet). Ensure no strong Wi-Fi or other wireless interference. Adjust ear tips for a secure and comfortable fit.
Awareness mode has constant white noise. Normal operation for ambient amplification; potential sensitivity. This can be a characteristic of ambient sound amplification. If it's disruptive, deactivate the awareness mode. There is no sensitivity control for this feature.
