Adjusting Thread Tension
If stitches are too loose or too tight, adjust the thread tension dial. Turn clockwise for tighter tension, counter-clockwise for looser tension. Test on a scrap piece of fabric to achieve the desired stitch quality.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your sewing machine, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Cleaning: Regularly remove lint and dust from the bobbin area and under the needle plate using a small brush.
- Needle Replacement: Replace needles frequently, especially when working with different fabric types or if the needle becomes dull or bent.
- Storage: Store the machine in a dry, clean place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Skipped Stitches: Ensure the needle is inserted correctly and is not bent. Re-thread the machine completely. Check the thread tension.
- Thread Breaking: Verify correct threading and tension. Use good quality thread. Ensure the needle is appropriate for the fabric.
- Machine Not Sewing: Check if the power adapter is securely plugged in or if batteries are correctly installed. Ensure the ON/OFF switch is engaged or the foot pedal is pressed.
- Bobbin Issues: Ensure the bobbin is wound correctly and inserted properly. Check for tangled thread in the bobbin case.
