2. Safety Information

WARNING: Gas cartridges contain highly flammable butane under pressure. Failure to follow these safety instructions can result in serious injury, fire, or explosion.

  • Ventilation: Always use gas appliances in well-ventilated areas to prevent the accumulation of unburnt gas.
  • Ignition Sources: Keep cartridges and appliances away from heat, open flames, pilot lights, direct sunlight, and other ignition sources.
  • Storage: Store cartridges in a cool, dry place, away from children and pets. Do not store above 50°C (122°F).
  • Handling: Do not puncture, incinerate, or expose cartridges to temperatures exceeding 50°C (122°F), even when empty.
  • Leak Detection: If you smell gas, immediately turn off the appliance, disconnect the cartridge (if safe to do so), and move to a well-ventilated area. Do not search for leaks with an open flame. Use soapy water to detect leaks.
  • Connection: Ensure the cartridge is correctly connected to a compatible appliance before use. Refer to the appliance's manual for specific connection instructions.
  • Disposal: Dispose of empty cartridges according to local regulations. Never dispose of full or partially full cartridges in household waste.

3. Setup and Installation

Before installing the gas cartridge, ensure your gas appliance is turned off and in a safe, stable position. Work in a well-ventilated area, away from any ignition sources.

  1. Prepare Appliance: Ensure the appliance's gas valve is in the 'OFF' position.
  2. Remove Cap: Carefully remove the red protective cap from the top of the gas cartridge.
  3. Align Cartridge: Align the collar of the cartridge with the connection mechanism of your gas appliance. The cartridge features a standard UN2037 valve designed for secure, leak-free connection.
  4. Connect: Push the cartridge firmly into the appliance's receiver and twist or lock it into place according to your appliance's specific instructions. You should feel a secure connection. Do not force it.
  5. Check for Leaks: After connection, apply a small amount of soapy water around the connection point. If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Immediately disconnect the cartridge and re-examine the connection or replace the cartridge if damaged.

  2. Adjust Flame: Adjust the gas flow to achieve the desired flame size and heat output.
  3. During Use: Monitor the flame and ensure adequate ventilation. Do not leave operating appliances unattended.
  4. Shut Down: To turn off the appliance, first close the gas valve on the appliance completely. Allow the appliance to cool down before handling or disconnecting the cartridge.

5. Maintenance and Storage

Proper maintenance and storage ensure the longevity and safety of your gas cartridges.

  • Cleaning: Keep the cartridge clean and free from dirt or debris, especially around the valve area.
  • Inspection: Before each use, inspect the cartridge for any signs of damage, dents, or corrosion. Do not use damaged cartridges.
  • Storage: Store cartridges in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and open flames. The ideal storage temperature is below 50°C (122°F).
  • Protective Cap: Always replace the red protective cap on the cartridge valve when not in use or during transport to prevent accidental gas release or damage to the valve.
