- While still holding the power button, slowly move the device horizontally across the desired surface.
- When the stud finder detects the edge of an object (wood or metal), it will beep continuously, and the signal strength lights will illuminate.
- Mark this location with a pen.
- Continue moving the device to find the other side of the stud and mark it. The center of the stud is typically between these two marks.
