  1. Fill with Water: Remove the lid, perk tube, and filter basket. Fill the percolator with cold, fresh water to your desired level, corresponding to the number of cups you wish to brew. Do not fill above the MAX fill line.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the perk tube into the percolator, ensuring it is securely seated in the heating element. Place the filter basket onto the perk tube. Add your preferred amount of ground coffee into the filter basket. For best results, use coarse to medium-coarse grounds to minimize sediment.
  3. Assemble: Place the lid securely on the percolator.
  4. Start Brewing: Plug the percolator into a standard electrical outlet. The LED indicator light will illuminate, indicating that brewing has begun.
  5. Brewing Process: Water will heat up and perk through the coffee grounds. The percolator will automatically stop brewing when the coffee is ready, and the LED indicator light will change or turn off (depending on model, typically blue for ready).
  6. Serve: Carefully remove the lid, perk tube, and filter basket. Pour the freshly brewed coffee into your cup using the easy-pour spout.

Keep Warm Function

After the brewing cycle is complete, the Homecraft Percolator automatically switches to a 'keep warm' mode. The LED indicator light will typically change color (e.g., from red to blue) or turn off to signify that the brewing is finished and the coffee is being kept warm at an optimal serving temperature.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

  1. Always unplug the percolator and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Remove the lid, perk tube, and filter basket. Discard any used coffee grounds.
  3. Wash the perk tube, filter basket, and lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  4. Wipe the interior and exterior of the percolator with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the percolator base in water or any other liquid.
  5. Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing.

Deep Cleaning / Descaling

Over time, mineral deposits can build up inside the percolator, affecting performance and coffee taste. Descale your percolator regularly (e.g., monthly or bi-monthly, depending on water hardness).

  1. Fill the percolator with a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water.
  2. Place the perk tube and filter basket (empty) back into the percolator.
  3. Plug in the percolator and allow it to complete a full brewing cycle with the vinegar solution.
  4. After the cycle, unplug and let the solution sit in the percolator for about 20-30 minutes.
  5. Pour out the vinegar solution and rinse the interior thoroughly with fresh water several times.
  6. Run two full cycles with fresh water only to remove any residual vinegar taste.
