4. Setup Guide
4.1 Assembly
- Place the main feeder unit on a flat, stable surface.
- Attach the food bowl securely to the base of the feeder.
- Open the top lid of the food storage container and fill it with dry pet food (kibble size 2-10mm recommended).
- Close the lid firmly to ensure food freshness and prevent spills.
4.2 Power Supply
The feeder supports dual power options:
- DC Adapter: Connect the provided 5V DC power adapter to the feeder and plug it into a wall outlet.
- Battery Backup: For continuous operation during power outages, insert 3 alkaline D-type batteries (not included) into the battery compartment at the bottom of the feeder.
It is highly recommended to use both power sources to ensure your pet is always fed.

4.3 App Connection (Wi-Fi Setup)
To utilize the smart features, connect the feeder to your home Wi-Fi network:
- Download the "Smart Life" APP from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
- Register or log in to your Smart Life account.
- Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. 5GHz networks are not supported.
- Add a new device in the app. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair the feeder. This usually involves putting the feeder into pairing mode (refer to the app for specific button presses if needed).
- Once connected, you can control the feeder remotely.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Scheduling Feeds
Use the Smart Life APP to set up a personalized feeding schedule:
- Open the Smart Life APP and select your Peteme feeder.
- Navigate to the "Schedule" or "Timer" section.
- Add new feeding times. You can set up to 6 meals per day.
- For each meal, specify the number of portions (1-10 portions). Each portion is approximately 8-10 grams.
- Save your schedule. The feeder will automatically dispense food at the programmed times.

5.2 Manual Feeding
You can manually dispense food using the app or the physical button on the feeder:
- Via APP: In the Smart Life APP, select your feeder and use the "Feed Now" or manual dispense option. You can typically select the number of portions to dispense.
- Via Feeder Button: Press the manual feed button on the feeder (usually the bottom button in the control panel) to dispense one portion of food.
5.3 Voice Recording Function
Record a personalized message to play during feeding times:
- In the Smart Life APP, find the voice recording setting for your feeder.
- Press and hold the record button (often indicated by a microphone icon) on the feeder or within the app.
- Record your 10-second message (e.g., "Hey buddy, come on, it's time to eat!").
- Release the button to save. The message will play 3 times when food is dispensed.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and hygiene of your Peteme Smart Pet Feeder:
- Disassembly: Unplug the feeder and remove any remaining food. Detach the food bowl and the food storage container from the main unit.
- Washing: All detachable parts (food bowl, food storage container) can be rinsed with water. Do NOT wash the main host unit, as it contains electronic components.
- Drying: Ensure all washed parts are completely dry before reassembling to prevent moisture damage or mold growth.
- Reassembly: Reattach the food storage container and food bowl securely.
- Placement: Place the feeder in a dry location, preferably in a corner to prevent accidental tipping.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Peteme Smart Pet Feeder, refer to the following common solutions:
