The hOmeLabs Evaporative Cooler is designed to provide cooling for rooms up to 200 square feet. It functions by drawing in warm, dry air, passing it over water-saturated cooling pads, and releasing cooler, humidified air. This process is most effective in dry climates, as indicated by the humidity map below.

2. Important Safety Instructions

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug.
  • Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.

5. Setup

5.1 Initial Placement

Place the evaporative cooler on a firm, level surface in the desired room. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for proper airflow.

5.2 Filling the Water Tank

  1. Gently pull out the water tank from the bottom rear of the unit.
  2. Fill the tank with clean water. For enhanced cooling, you may add ice or ice packs to the water. The tank has a 10-liter capacity.
  3. Do not overfill the tank beyond the 'MAX' line.
  4. Carefully slide the water tank back into the unit until it is securely in place.

5.3 Power Connection

Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

Your evaporative cooler can be operated using the control panel on the unit or the included remote control.

6.2 Remote Control

The remote control allows you to adjust all settings from a distance. Ensure the included AAA batteries are correctly installed.

6.3 Functions

  • Power (ON/OFF): Press to turn the unit on or off.
  • Speed: Select from Low, Mid, or High fan speeds.
  • Cool: Activates the evaporative cooling function, utilizing water from the tank.
  • Wind Mode: Choose between Natural, Sleep, or Normal wind modes for varied airflow patterns.
  • Swing: Activates the oscillating vents for wider air distribution. You can adjust both up/down and left/right swing.
  • Timer: Set a 24-hour programmable timer for automatic shut-off.
  • Max Mode: Engages the highest cooling performance setting.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your evaporative cooler.

7.1 Water Tank

  • Monitor the water level using the visible indicator. The unit features an audible low-water indicator and auto shut-off function.
  • Empty and clean the water tank regularly to prevent mold and mildew growth.

7.2 Air Filter Cleaning

The unit is equipped with a removable and reusable nylon air filter to protect against dust and pet hairs. It is recommended to clean the filter weekly.

  1. Unplug the unit from the power outlet.
  2. Locate the air filter at the rear of the unit.
  3. Slide the filter out.
  4. Clean the filter with mild detergent and a soft brush.
  5. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before reinserting.
