Important Safety Information

- Carafe use: The carafe is designed for use with this appliance. It must never be used on a range top. Do not place a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface. Do not use a cracked carafe or a carafe having a loose or weakened handle. Do not clean carafe with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive material.
- Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycle.

Initial Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and promotional labels from your coffee maker.
- Clean: Wash the carafe, lid, and reusable filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
- First Use Cycle: Before brewing coffee for the first time, operate the coffee maker with water only to clean the internal components. Fill the water reservoir to the 14-cup mark, place the empty carafe on the warming plate, and run a full brew cycle. Discard the water.
Operating Instructions
Brewing Coffee
- Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the desired cup marking. Ensure the water level does not exceed the "MAX" line.

- Add Coffee Grounds: Place the reusable filter into the brew basket. Add your desired amount of ground coffee to the filter. For optimal flavor, use 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per cup.

- Close Lid: Close the top lid securely.
- Place Carafe: Ensure the empty glass carafe is correctly positioned on the warming plate.
- Select Brew Strength (Optional): Press the STRONG BREW button for a bolder cup of coffee.

- Select 1-4 Cup Option (Optional): If brewing a smaller batch (1-4 cups), press the 1-4 CUPS button to optimize flavor extraction for smaller quantities.
- Start Brewing: Press the BREW ON/OFF button to begin the brewing cycle. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Pause & Serve: The coffee maker features a Pause & Serve function, allowing you to temporarily remove the carafe during brewing to pour a cup. Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.

Programming the Coffee Maker
- Set Clock: Press the HR and MIN buttons to set the current time.
- Set Delay Brew: Press the BREW LATER button. The display will flash. Use the HR and MIN buttons to set the desired time for brewing to start. Press BREW LATER again to confirm. The indicator light will illuminate.

- Adjust Keep Warm Time: Press the WARMING TIMER button repeatedly to cycle through the desired keep warm duration (1 to 4 hours). The setting will be saved for future brews.

- Adjust Warming Plate Temperature: Press the WARMING TEMP button repeatedly to select Low, Medium, or High heat settings for the warming plate. The setting will be saved.

Maintenance
Cleaning and Care
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, discard used coffee grounds and rinse the reusable filter. Wash the carafe and lid in warm, soapy water. The carafe is not dishwasher safe.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Descaling: The decalcification sensor will illuminate when it's time to clean the coffee maker.

- Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts cold water.
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Press the CLEAN button. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Allow the coffee maker to complete the cleaning cycle.
- After the cycle, discard the vinegar solution.
- Run two full cycles with fresh, cold water to rinse the coffee maker thoroughly.
