- Power On/Off:
- Press the ON/OFF button to turn the tester on.
- Press the ON/OFF button again to turn the tester off.
- Selecting Measurement Mode:
- After powering on, press the MODE / CAL button repeatedly to cycle through the different measurement modes: EC, TDS, Salinity (SALT), and Specific Gravity (S.G.).
- The current mode will be indicated on the LCD display.
- Taking a Measurement:
- Ensure the protective cover is removed from the electrode.
- Submerge the electrode into the water sample up to the immersion line.
- Gently stir the tester to remove any air bubbles and allow the reading to stabilize.
- Read the value displayed on the LCD screen.

6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your C-100 Water Quality Tester.
- Cleaning the Electrode:
- After each use, rinse the electrode thoroughly with distilled or deionized water to prevent contamination and residue buildup.
- Gently wipe the electrode with a soft, clean cloth. Do not scrub or use abrasive materials.
- For stubborn deposits, a mild cleaning solution specifically designed for pH/EC electrodes may be used, followed by a thorough rinse.
- Battery Replacement:
- When the battery indicator on the display shows low power, replace the batteries.
- Open the battery compartment and replace with new batteries of the correct type and polarity.
- Dispose of old batteries responsibly.
- Storage:
- Always replace the protective cover on the electrode before storing the device.
- Store the tester in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid storing the device in environments with high humidity or corrosive gases.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not turn on. | Low or dead batteries; incorrect battery installation. | Replace batteries; ensure correct polarity. |
| Inaccurate or unstable readings. | Dirty electrode; air bubbles on electrode; device needs calibration; expired calibration solution. | Clean electrode; gently stir sample; recalibrate the device; use fresh calibration solution. |
| Display shows "Err" or blank. | Measurement range exceeded; sensor malfunction. | Ensure sample is within measurement range; if problem persists, contact support. |
| Slow response time. | Electrode is dry or contaminated. | Rinse and re-hydrate electrode in distilled water for a few minutes; clean electrode. |
