Setup Instructions

1. Power On: Insert the BTFM5 into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket). The device will power on and the LED display will illuminate.
2. Tune FM Frequency:
   • Press the Frequency Button (refer to Figure 2) to activate FM tuning mode.
   • Rotate the Multi-function Button (MFB) to select an unused FM frequency on the BTFM5's display. Choose a frequency that has no strong radio station signal to minimize interference.
   • Tune your vehicle's FM radio to the exact same frequency selected on the BTFM5.
3. Bluetooth Pairing:
   • On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
   • Select "Scosche BTFM5" from the list of devices to pair. A confirmation tone or message may indicate successful pairing.
4. Alternative Audio Connection (Optional): If Bluetooth is not desired or available, connect your audio device to the BTFM5's 3.5mm AUX port using the provided 3.5mm audio cable.

Operating Instructions

Music Playback:

• Once paired via Bluetooth or connected via AUX, begin playing music on your mobile device.
• The audio will transmit to your vehicle's FM radio on the selected frequency.
• Play/Pause: Press the Multi-function Button (MFB) once.
• Next Track: Rotate the MFB clockwise.
• Previous Track: Rotate the MFB counter-clockwise.
• Volume Adjustment: Adjust the volume on your mobile device and/or your car stereo. The BTFM5's MFB can also adjust the transmitter's output volume.

Hands-Free Calling:

• Answer Call: Press the Multi-function Button (MFB) once when an incoming call is received.
• End Call: Press the MFB once during an active call.
• Reject Call: Press and hold the MFB for approximately 2 seconds when an incoming call is received.
• Activate Voice Assistant (Siri/Google Voice): Press and hold the MFB for approximately 1 second to activate your phone's voice assistant.

Device Charging:

• Connect your mobile device's USB charging cable to one of the two USB-A charging ports on the BTFM5.
• The BTFM5 provides up to 12W of power per port, totaling 24W, for efficient charging.

Maintenance

• Keep the device clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.
• Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, moisture, or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
