Step-by-Step Installation:
- Prepare the Area: Ensure the installation area is clean, level, and has adequate structural support for the filled tub. Mark the desired finished location of the tub on the floor with an erasable pencil.
- Install Overflow Trim: Apply clear silicone caulking to the tub overflow trim piece. Hold it in place and confirm it is inserted flat and appears level from all angles. Secure with blue painter's tape until cured (approx. 24 hours).
- Install Drain Assembly: Fill the grooved gasket with silicone and install it with the groove and silicone facing up. Tighten the drain nut in place, being careful not to overtighten; it only needs to be snug.
- Level the Bathtub: Carefully turn the tub upside down on a protective surface. Use a 24" level to adjust the legs, leaving a 1/8" to 1/4" gap between the rim of the tub and the level. Loosen the nuts to adjust legs down, and tighten to secure.
- Connect to Floor Drain:
- Plan A: Installation with Underfloor Access: Attach your flanged tail piece (provided by installer) to the tub drain and tighten. Connect this to the floor drain pipe.
- Plan B: Installation on Slab Floor (No Underfloor Access): Attach your flanged tail piece (provided by installer) to the tub drain and tighten. Connect this to the floor drain pipe.
- Leak Test: Push the pop-up drain into a closed position. Fill the bathtub with cold water above the overflow level. Check for any leaks around the drain and pipe connections.
- Final Placement and Sealing: Once leak-free, apply silicone caulking to the base rim of the tub and carefully lower the tub into its final position, aligning with the marked outline.
