Operating Instructions (How to Play)

Funkel Schatz is a game of prediction and observation. The goal is to collect the most gems by correctly predicting which colors will fall.

Game Flow:

  1. Prediction Phase: At the beginning of each round, players secretly choose one of their gem tiles, predicting which color of gem they believe will fall from the ice pillar.
  2. Papa Dragon's Turn: The player designated as the 'Papa Dragon' for the round carefully removes one ice ring from the ice pillar. This action causes gems to spill out onto the game board.
  3. Gem Collection: Once the gems have settled, players reveal their chosen gem tiles. Any player who correctly predicted a color that fell from the pillar collects all gems of that color that are now on the board.
  4. Observation and Strategy: Players must observe the remaining gems in the ice pillar and the arrangement of the ice rings to make informed predictions for subsequent rounds. The game involves a delicate balance of luck and strategic observation.
  5. End of Round: After gems are collected, the role of 'Papa Dragon' passes to the next player, and a new round begins.

Winning the Game:

The game ends when all ice rings have been removed and no more gems can fall from the pillar. Players count their collected gems. The player with the most gems wins the game.

Care and Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe game components with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure all parts are completely dry before storage. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store all game components in the original box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. This helps prevent warping or fading of the materials.
  • Handling: Handle all game pieces with care to prevent damage. Avoid bending or creasing cardboard components.
  • Small Parts: Always ensure all small gems and figures are accounted for and stored securely to prevent loss and to keep them out of reach of very young children.
