4. Installation Instructions
Replacing your existing actuator requires careful attention to detail. Ensure the chair is unplugged from the power source before beginning installation.
- Preparation: Unplug the recliner from the wall outlet. Carefully flip the chair over or position it to access the existing motor and its connections.
- Disconnect Old Motor: Disconnect the 2-pin flat round power transformer connection and the 5-pin hand control plug connection from the old motor. Note their orientation.
- Remove Old Motor: The old actuator is typically held in place by pins and locking springs at each end. Carefully remove these pins to detach the old motor.
- Install New Motor: Position the new Okin Deltadrive motor in the same location as the old one. Secure it using the pins and locking springs. Ensure the motor is properly aligned.
- Connect Cables: Connect the 2-pin flat round power transformer cable and the 5-pin hand control plug to the corresponding ports on the new motor. Ensure connections are secure.
- Cable Management: Use zip-ties or other appropriate fasteners to secure loose cables, preventing them from interfering with moving parts or becoming damaged.
- Power Cord Length: Be aware that the power cord may be short (approximately 1-2 inches long). An extension may be required depending on your setup.
