3. Setup
3.1 Charging the Battery
The spreader uses an internal battery. Before first use, fully charge the battery. Connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the charging port located on the unit, and then connect the other end to a compatible USB power source. A red indicator light will illuminate to confirm charging is in progress. Allow sufficient time for a full charge before operation.
3.2 Filling the Hopper
- Ensure the spreader is turned off and the trigger is disengaged.
- Open the hopper lid.
- Carefully pour the desired granular material (seed, fertilizer, de-icer) into the hopper. Do not overfill.
- Close the hopper lid securely.
4. Operation
4.1 Adjusting Spread Setting
The spread setting dial controls the size of the opening at the bottom of the hopper, which determines the flow rate of the material. Adjust this dial based on the granule size of your material:

Figure 3: Close-up of the spread setting dial, showing numerical adjustments.
- Settings 1-2: Suitable for uncoated seeds or very fine materials.
- Settings 2-3: Ideal for light fertilizers.
- Setting 4: Recommended for heavy fertilizers.
- Setting 5: Best for pearled fertilizers or de-icer salts.
Always test the spread pattern and flow rate in a small, inconspicuous area before applying to your main target area.
4.2 Adjusting Speed Control
Use the speed control slider to adjust the rotation speed of the spreading disc. A higher speed will cast material further, while a lower speed will result in a more concentrated spread. Experiment with different speeds to achieve the desired coverage.
4.3 Spreading Material
- Ensure the battery is charged and the hopper is filled.
- Adjust the spread setting dial and speed control slider according to your material and desired coverage.
- Hold the spreader comfortably by the handle.
- Press and hold the trigger to activate the spreading mechanism.
- Walk at a consistent pace to ensure even distribution. Release the trigger to stop spreading.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
- After each use, empty any remaining material from the hopper.
- Wipe down the hopper and exterior of the spreader with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure no material is lodged in the spreading mechanism. If necessary, gently clear any blockages.
5.2 Storage
Store the spreader in a clean, dry area away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the battery is fully charged before long-term storage to maintain battery health.
6. Troubleshooting
- Spreader Not Activating:
- Check if the battery is sufficiently charged.
- Ensure the battery is properly seated in the port.
- Material Not Spreading Evenly or Clogging:
- Verify the spread setting dial is appropriate for the material's granule size. Adjust to a larger opening if necessary.
- Check for moisture in the material, which can cause clumping. Ensure materials are dry before loading.
- Inspect the spreading mechanism for any blockages and clear them carefully.
- Adjust the speed control slider; a higher speed might help with distribution.
- Short Battery Life:
- Ensure the battery is fully charged before use.
- Battery performance can decrease over time with repeated use and charging cycles.
