4. Setup and Initial Use
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the device.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 8 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: The device can also be powered by a 5V/2A power bank using the included power bank holder and USB cable. This can extend operational time and potentially enhance IR performance.
4.2 TF Card Insertion
- Locate the TF card slot, typically protected by a rubber flap.
- Gently insert the 64GB TF card (included) into the slot until it clicks into place. Ensure the card is oriented correctly.
- To remove, gently push the card inward until it springs out.
The device supports TF cards from 8GB to 128GB.
4.3 IR-Filter Cap Usage
The device is equipped with an IR-filter cap. This cap should be covered when operating the device in bright light conditions to protect the sensor. Remove the cap when operating in dark conditions to allow the infrared light to function effectively.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on, press and hold the Power button (usually centrally located) until the LCD screen illuminates.
- To power off, press and hold the Power button again until the screen turns off.
5.2 Adjusting Focus and Zoom
- Use the focus wheel (typically located near the objective lens) to achieve a clear image.
- Utilize the ZOOM buttons (often labeled with '+' and '-') to adjust the magnification. The device offers 3.6-10.8X optical zoom and 3X digital zoom.
5.3 Infrared (IR) Illumination
- In low light or complete darkness, press the IR button to activate the infrared illuminator.
- Repeatedly press the IR button to cycle through the 5 available IR intensity levels. Higher levels provide greater illumination range.
- When using an external power bank, up to 7 IR levels may be available.
5.4 Photo and Video Recording
- Press the MODE button to switch between photo mode, video mode, and playback mode.
- In photo mode, press the SNAP button to capture a still image.
- In video mode, press the SNAP button to start recording. Press again to stop recording.
5.5 Playback Function
- In playback mode (selected via MODE button), use the navigation buttons (if available, or ZOOM buttons) to browse through captured photos and videos.
- Press the SNAP button to view or play a selected file.
5.6 Connecting to External Devices
- PC Connection: Use the provided USB cable to connect the binoculars to your computer. The device will appear as a removable disk, allowing you to transfer photos and videos.
