4. Setup and First Use

Before using your coffee maker for the first time, follow these steps:

  1. Unpack the coffee maker and remove all packaging materials.
  2. Clean all removable parts (glass carafe, permanent filter, filter basket) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
  4. For initial cleaning of the internal system, fill the water reservoir with clean water up to the MAX level.
  5. Place the empty filter basket with the permanent filter inside, and position the empty glass carafe on the heating plate.
  6. Plug the coffee maker into a suitable electrical outlet and turn it on. Allow the water to brew through the system.
  7. Once the cycle is complete, discard the water from the carafe. Repeat this process 1-2 times to ensure the system is clean.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew coffee:

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water. Use the water level indicator on the side of the coffee maker to measure the desired amount, up to the 6-cup (750ml) MAX line. Do not overfill.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the permanent filter into the filter basket. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the permanent filter. A general guideline is one tablespoon of ground coffee per cup (150ml), but adjust to your taste.
  3. Position Carafe: Ensure the filter basket is properly seated and close the lid. Place the empty glass carafe with its lid on the heating plate. Ensure it is correctly positioned to activate the anti-drip mechanism.
  4. Start Brewing: Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet. Press the power switch to turn on the coffee maker. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin.
  5. Anti-Drip Function: The coffee maker features an anti-drip system, allowing you to temporarily remove the carafe during brewing to pour a cup. The flow of coffee will pause. Replace the carafe within 30 seconds to prevent overflow.
  6. Keep-Warm Function: Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the keep-warm function, maintaining the coffee's temperature on the heating plate.
  7. Serve and Turn Off: Serve the coffee when ready. For optimal taste, consume coffee shortly after brewing. Turn off the coffee maker by pressing the power switch and unplug it from the outlet after use.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Remove the glass carafe, permanent filter, and filter basket. Wash these parts in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally dishwasher-safe on the top rack, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
  • Wipe the exterior surfaces of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Never immerse the main unit of the coffee maker in water or any other liquid.

Descaling:

Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting its performance and coffee taste. Descale your coffee maker every 2-4 weeks, depending on water hardness and frequency of use.

  1. Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water) up to the MAX level. Alternatively, use a commercial descaling solution following its instructions.
  2. Place the empty glass carafe on the heating plate.
  3. Turn on the coffee maker and let half of the solution brew through.
  4. Turn off the coffee maker and let it soak for at least 15 minutes to allow the solution to work on the deposits.
  5. Turn the coffee maker back on and let the remaining solution brew through.
  6. Discard the solution from the carafe.
  7. Run 2-3 cycles with clean, fresh water to rinse out any remaining vinegar or descaling solution taste.
