Bernstein TWG62 Wall-Mounted Mineral Cast Washbasin

Model: TWG62 - White Matt, 100x46x20 cm

Introduction

This instruction manual provides essential information for the safe and correct installation, operation, and maintenance of your Bernstein TWG62 Wall-Mounted Mineral Cast Washbasin. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and retain it for future reference. Incorrect installation or use may lead to damage or injury.

Safety Information

  • Always ensure the wall structure is suitable and strong enough to support the weight of the washbasin (36 kg) plus any additional load (water, items). Consult a structural engineer if unsure.
  • Installation should be performed by qualified personnel or a competent plumber.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during installation, including safety glasses and gloves.
  • Ensure all water supply lines are turned off before beginning installation.
  • Handle the washbasin with care to prevent chipping or damage to the mineral cast material.
  • Keep children and pets away from the installation area.

Package Contents

Verify that all components are present and undamaged before beginning installation.

  • Bernstein TWG62 Wall-Mounted Mineral Cast Washbasin (100x46x20 cm)
  • Mounting hardware (screws, wall plugs, etc.)
  • Installation template (if provided)

Note: Faucet, drain valve, and siphon are not included and must be purchased separately.

Setup and Installation

Follow these steps carefully for proper installation. It is recommended to have two people for lifting and positioning the washbasin due to its weight.

1. Preparation

  • Unpack all components and inspect for any damage.
  • Determine the desired mounting height. The top edge of the washbasin is typically installed at 85-90 cm from the finished floor, but adjust according to user preference.
  • Locate and mark the positions for water supply lines and the drain pipe on the wall.
  • The faucet hole is not pre-drilled. Mark the desired position for your faucet on the washbasin and drill carefully using an appropriate drill bit for mineral cast.

2. Wall Mounting

  1. Using the provided mounting template (if applicable) or by measuring directly from the washbasin, mark the drilling points for the wall mounting bolts on the wall. Ensure these marks are level.
  2. Drill holes at the marked positions using a drill bit suitable for your wall material.
  3. Insert the appropriate wall plugs into the drilled holes.
  4. Secure the mounting bolts or brackets (part of the included mounting hardware) into the wall plugs. Ensure they are firmly tightened.
  5. Carefully lift the washbasin and align it with the mounting bolts/brackets. Slide the washbasin onto the bolts/brackets.
  6. Secure the washbasin to the wall using the remaining mounting hardware (e.g., nuts and washers). Do not overtighten, but ensure the washbasin is stable and secure.

  2. Install the drain valve and siphon according to their respective manufacturer's instructions. Ensure all connections are watertight.
  3. Connect the water supply lines to the faucet.

Operating Instructions

The Bernstein TWG62 washbasin is designed for standard bathroom use. Its integrated towel rail and storage compartment provide convenient functionality.

  • Use the faucet to control water flow and temperature as usual.
  • The washbasin features a drain channel without an overflow. Ensure the faucet is not left running unattended to prevent accidental flooding.
  • Utilize the integrated towel rail for hanging hand towels and the storage surface for bathroom essentials.

Maintenance and Care

To maintain the appearance and longevity of your mineral cast washbasin, follow these care instructions:

  • Daily Cleaning: Clean the washbasin regularly with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive liquid cleaner. Rinse thoroughly with water and dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.
  • Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals (e.g., strong acids, ammonia-based cleaners) as these can damage the surface finish.
  • Stain Removal: For stubborn stains, a diluted solution of mild detergent or a specialized mineral cast cleaner can be used. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.
  • Heat Resistance: While mineral cast is durable, avoid placing extremely hot items directly on the surface without protection.
  • Scratches: Minor scratches on the matt surface can often be buffed out with a fine abrasive pad (e.g., Scotch-Brite white pad) and a small amount of mineral cast polishing paste, followed by thorough rinsing. Consult a professional for deeper damage.

Troubleshooting
