1. Product Overview

This document provides instructions for the AuKing replacement remote control, designed for a wide range of Optoma DLP projectors. This wireless, universal remote offers convenient control over your projector's functions, including power, source selection, volume, keystone correction, and various display settings.

2. Setup and Battery Installation

The remote control requires two AAA batteries for operation. Batteries are not included with the product.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
  2. Slide open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

After battery installation, the remote control should be ready for use with compatible Optoma projectors without additional pairing steps.

3. Operating Instructions

This section details the functions of each button on your AuKing remote control.

3.1. Power and Basic Control

  • Power Button (): Press to turn the projector on or off. A green indicator light above the power button illuminates when the remote is transmitting a signal.

3.2. Navigation and Selection

  • Up, Down, Left, Right Arrows: Navigate through menus and options.
  • Enter Button: Confirm selections or open sub-menus.

3.3. Input and Display Settings

  • Source Button: Cycles through available input sources (e.g., HDMI, VGA, S-Video).
  • Re-SYNC Button: Resynchronizes the projector with the current input source.
  • Keystone (+/-): Adjusts the keystone correction to square the image if the projector is not perfectly perpendicular to the screen.
  • Page+ / Page-: Used for presentation control (e.g., advancing slides).
  • Brightness (+/-): Adjusts the image brightness.
  • Contrast (+/-): Adjusts the image contrast.
  • ZOOM (+/-): Adjusts the digital zoom level of the projected image.
  • Menu Button: Opens the projector's on-screen display (OSD) menu.
  • Freeze Button: Pauses the current image on the screen.
  • AV mute Button: Mutes both audio and video output.

3.4. Audio Control

  • Volume (+/-): Increases or decreases the audio volume.

3.5. Direct Input Selection and Numeric Pad

  • Numeric Buttons (1-9): May be used for direct input selection or other functions depending on the projector model.
  • S-Video Button (4): Direct selection for S-Video input.
  • VGA Button (5): Direct selection for VGA input.
  • Video Button (6): Direct selection for composite video input.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the remote control. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type.
  • Storage: If the remote control will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage.
  • Avoid Exposure: Keep the remote control away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding:
    • Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity.
    • Replace old batteries with new AAA batteries.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote control and the projector's IR receiver.
    • Confirm the remote is pointed directly at the projector's IR receiver.
  • Limited functionality:
    • Verify that your projector model is listed as compatible. While this remote is universal for many Optoma models, specific advanced functions might vary.
    • Consult your projector's original user manual for specific function mappings if certain buttons do not behave as expected.
