- Intuitive Operation: Color indicators in the handle show operational status at-a-glance.
- Comfortable Design: Rocker-style switches require less activation force than traditional circuit breakers.
- Flexible Upgrades: Modular panel design and 225 Amp rated bussing allow for in-field main breaker customization and future smart upgrades.
2. Setup and Installation
Installation of the Leviton LB245-T circuit breaker is designed for efficiency and ease. It is crucial that all electrical work is performed by a qualified electrician and adheres to all local and national electrical codes.
Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Load Center: Ensure the main power to the load center is OFF before beginning any work. The Leviton Load Center's design allows for wiring at rough-in without breakers installed, providing ample space.
- Wire Connections: Branch phase and neutral connections are made directly on the load center panel. Neatly land wires at rough-in, ensuring no breakers are in the way.
- Plug-On Breaker Installation: Once wiring is complete, simply snap the LB245-T circuit breaker into the designated slot on the load center's bus bar. No additional wiring is required for the breaker itself.
- Secure Breaker: Ensure the breaker is firmly seated and securely connected to the bus bar.

4. Maintenance
Leviton circuit breakers are designed for long-term reliability with minimal user maintenance. However, periodic inspection by a qualified electrician is recommended to ensure continued safe operation.
Recommended Maintenance Practices:
- Visual Inspection: Periodically check the circuit breaker for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections.
- Professional Inspection: It is advisable to have a qualified electrician inspect your load center and circuit breakers at regular intervals (e.g., every 3-5 years) to check for wear, proper functioning, and compliance with current electrical codes.
- Cleaning: Ensure the area around the load center is clean and free from dust or debris. Do not use liquids to clean inside the load center.
WARNING: Do not attempt to open or repair the circuit breaker yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
5. Troubleshooting
If a circuit breaker trips, it indicates an overload or a fault condition on the circuit. The Leviton LB245-T provides visual cues to assist in identifying the issue.
Identifying a Tripped Breaker:
- When the breaker trips, the rocker switch will move to an intermediate position between 'ON' and 'OFF'.
- The color indicator in the handle will change to signal the tripped status.
Resetting a Tripped Breaker:
- Identify and Correct the Cause: Before resetting, unplug or turn off any appliances or devices on the affected circuit that may have caused the overload or fault.
- Fully OFF: Push the breaker handle firmly to the 'OFF' position. You may hear a click.
- Turn ON: Push the breaker handle firmly to the 'ON' position.
If the breaker immediately trips again, there is still an issue on the circuit. Do not repeatedly reset the breaker. Contact a qualified electrician for diagnosis and repair.
Advanced Fault Identification:
Leviton Load Centers and compatible breakers may feature line-side powered LEDs that provide easy fault type identification, assisting electricians in quickly diagnosing issues such as arc faults or ground faults.
