- Activate and relearn known sensors.
- Read sensor ID, temperature, and pressure.
- Read battery power level condition.
- Two sensor programming options: Copy by Activation, Auto Create 1-16 Sensors.
6.2 Advanced Mode
Advanced Mode unlocks the full range of TPMS functionalities, suitable for comprehensive diagnostics and service tasks.
- Includes all TPMS features available in Quick Mode.
- TPMS Status Screen: View system faults.
- Read and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the ECU.
- Sensor Position Relearn.
- Two sensor programming options: Copy by OBD, Auto Create 1-16 Sensors.

7. Key TPMS Functions
7.1 Sensor Activation
The TS508WF can wirelessly activate almost all known OEM and aftermarket TPMS sensors (315MHz and 433MHz). This process retrieves sensor data such as Sensor ID, Tire Pressure, Tire Temperature, Sensor Battery status, Sensor Position, and Frequency.

Figure 7.1: The Autel TS508WF activating a TPMS sensor, displaying key data points like sensor ID, tire pressure, and battery level.
7.2 MX-Sensor Programming
The TS508WF is designed to program Autel MX-Sensors (315MHz and 433MHz) to replace faulty or low-battery sensors. It is important to note that this tool can only program Autel MX-Sensors and not sensors from other brands. Programming is recommended before sensor installation.
Two programming options are available:
- Auto Create 1-16 Sensors: Generates new sensor IDs for up to 16 MX-Sensors.
- Copy by OBD: Copies the existing sensor IDs from the vehicle's ECU via the OBD-II port to the new MX-Sensors. This method is useful for replacing sensors without needing a relearn procedure if the old sensors are completely inactive.

Figure 7.2: An illustration of the two methods for programming Autel MX-Sensors: 'Auto Create' for generating new IDs and 'Copy by OBD' for duplicating existing sensor IDs.
7.3 TPMS Sensor Relearn
After replacing or programming TPMS sensors, a relearn procedure is necessary to link the new sensor IDs to the vehicle's TPMS ECU and turn off the warning light. The TS508WF supports three relearn methods:
- Stationary Relearn: Requires the vehicle to be parked and specific steps followed, often involving tire pressure adjustments.
- Automatic Relearn: The vehicle learns new sensor IDs by driving under specific conditions.
- OBD Relearn: Connects to the vehicle's OBD-II port to directly write new sensor IDs to the ECU. This method is generally the most efficient.

7.4 TPMS Diagnostics
The TS508WF can diagnose the TPMS system to identify and resolve issues. This includes reading and clearing TPMS fault codes (DTCs), checking the overall health condition of the TPMS, and resetting the TPMS warning light.
- Read TPMS sensor status.
- Check TPMS system health.
- Read and clear TPMS fault codes with descriptions.
- Turn off the TPMS warning light.

8. Data Management
The TS508WF allows for reviewing and printing diagnostic data for record-keeping or client reports.
- Review Data: Access saved sensor IDs, read codes, live data, and ECU information directly on the device.
- Print Data: Connect the device to a computer to print diagnostic reports using the Autel PC Suite software.

12. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with the TS508WF.
12.1 Device Not Powering On
- Ensure the device is fully charged. Connect it to the AC adapter and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes.
- Verify the power button is pressed and held for a few seconds.
12.2 Software Update Issues
- Slow Wi-Fi Updates: Ensure a strong and stable Wi-Fi connection. Update times can vary depending on network speed and update size.
- Update Failure: Ensure the device has sufficient battery charge or is connected to power during updates. If using USB, ensure the Autel PC Suite is correctly installed and the USB connection is stable.
12.3 Sensor Programming/Relearn Problems
- Sensor Not Activating: Ensure the sensor is within range and the device is correctly positioned. Check if the sensor battery is depleted.
- Cannot Program Other Brand Sensors: The TS508WF is designed to program Autel MX-Sensors only. It cannot program sensors from other manufacturers.
- Relearn Failure: Ensure all steps for the chosen relearn method (Stationary, Automatic, or OBD) are followed precisely according to the vehicle's requirements. For OBD relearn, ensure the OBD-II cable is securely connected and the vehicle's ignition is in the correct position (often 'ON' but engine off).
- Duplicate Sensor IDs (Copy by OBD): If replacing a partially functional sensor using 'Copy by OBD', ensure the old sensor is sufficiently far away (e.g., 100 meters) or shielded to prevent signal interference.
