Safety Information
Please read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating the pump. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, serious injury, or property damage.
- Electrical Safety: The pump operates on 115 Volts (AC). Ensure the power source matches the pump's requirements. Do not use extension cords unless absolutely necessary and ensure they are rated for outdoor use and the pump's wattage.
- Submersion: Always submerge the pump into the water at an inclined angle to remove excess air before operation.
- Placement: The pump should be placed on a level and solid foundation to ensure stable operation.
- Debris: Ensure the exhaust hole is not blocked by debris. The pump is designed for particle passage up to 1.37 inches (34mm); larger particles may cause damage.
- Overheating Protection: The pump is equipped with built-in automatic thermal overload protection. If the pump operates at a high temperature, it will automatically stop and restart once it has cooled down sufficiently.
- Water Temperature: Do not use the pump with water exceeding 95°F (35°C).
- Dry Running: Avoid operating the pump without water (dry running) as this can cause severe damage to the motor.
- Handling: Do not move the pump by pulling the power cord. Always use the integrated handle for transport.

Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to set up your LANCHEZ Sump Pump for operation:
- Choose Location: Select a stable, level surface for the pump within the water source.
- Attach Hose: Connect the appropriate hose adapter to the pump's discharge port. Secure your hose to the adapter using a clamp if necessary.
- Position Float Switch: Ensure the float switch has enough clearance to move freely and activate/deactivate the pump based on water levels. The float switch controls automatic operation.
- Submerge Pump: Carefully lower the pump into the water. Submerge it at an inclined angle to allow any trapped air to escape.
- Connect Power: Plug the 16 ft power cable into a suitable 115V (AC) power outlet. The pump will begin operating automatically once the float switch rises with the water level.

Operating Instructions
The LANCHEZ Sump Pump is designed for continuous duty use in various draining applications. Its automatic float switch simplifies operation:
- Once submerged and plugged in, the pump will automatically activate when the water level rises, causing the float switch to face upwards (approximately 45 degrees).
- The pump will continue to operate, efficiently transferring water, until the water level drops sufficiently, causing the float switch to face downwards, at which point the pump will automatically shut off.
- This automatic start/stop feature prevents dry running and ensures efficient water management.
Applications: This submersible pump is suitable for a wide range of uses, including:
- Removing standing water from swimming pools, hot tubs, and ponds.
- Draining flooded basements, cellars, or sump pits.
- Transferring water from rain barrels or other water tanks.
- General garden watering (with appropriate hose adapters).

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your LANCHEZ Sump Pump:
- Cleaning: Periodically inspect the pump's intake and discharge ports for any debris, such as leaves, dirt, or small particles, that may obstruct water flow. Clean as needed.
- Storage: When not in use, especially during colder months, drain any remaining water from the pump and store it in a dry, protected area to prevent freezing and damage.
- Float Switch: Ensure the float switch remains clean and moves freely to guarantee proper automatic operation.
- Power Cord: Inspect the power cord for any signs of damage, fraying, or cuts before each use. Do not use the pump if the cord is damaged.
Troubleshooting
For detailed troubleshooting steps and solutions to common issues, please refer to the official Troubleshooting Guide (PDF). Below are some general tips:
- Pump Not Starting: Check if the pump is properly plugged in. Ensure the float switch is in the 'on' position (floating upwards). Verify there is power to the outlet.
- Low Flow Rate: Inspect the intake and discharge ports for blockages. Check if the hose is kinked or too long for the pump's capacity.
- Pump Runs Continuously: Ensure the float switch is not obstructed and can drop freely to the 'off' position.
- Pump Overheats: The thermal overload protection will shut off the pump if it overheats. Allow it to cool down before restarting. Ensure the pump is fully submerged and not running dry.
