3. Setup

3.1 System Requirements

  • Operating System: macOS OSX 10.7 or higher, Windows 7, 8 or higher
  • Connectivity: Available USB port
  • Software: Compatible DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) software

3.2 Connecting Your GXP88

  1. Placement: Place your Impact GXP88 on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate space for comfortable playing and access to rear panel connections.
  2. Power and USB Connection: Connect the included USB cable from the GXP88's USB port to an available USB port on your computer. The GXP88 is USB class compliant and will draw power directly from the USB connection. An optional DC 9V power adapter (not included) can be used for standalone operation or if your USB port does not provide sufficient power.
  3. MIDI Out (Optional): If connecting to external MIDI hardware, use a standard 5-pin MIDI cable from the GXP88's MIDI Out port to the MIDI In port of your external device.
  4. Pedal Connections (Optional): Connect a sustain pedal to the "Foot Switch" input and an expression pedal to the "Expression Pedal" input for added control.

5. Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Nektar Impact GXP88.

5.1 Cleaning

  • Always disconnect the GXP88 from your computer before cleaning.
