5. Setup

5.1 Powering the Speaker

The DMR203 can be powered by either a Makita lithium-ion battery or the supplied AC power adapter.

Using a Battery:

  1. Open the battery compartment cover located at the rear of the speaker.
  2. Insert a charged Makita 10.8V, 12V, or 18V lithium-ion battery into the compartment, ensuring it clicks into place.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Using the AC Power Adapter:

  1. Connect the supplied AC power adapter to the DC-in port on the side of the speaker.
  2. Plug the other end of the adapter into a standard wall outlet.

5.2 Initial Power On

Press and hold the Power button on the control panel until the display illuminates. The speaker will typically enter Bluetooth pairing mode automatically on first use or if no device is connected.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Ensure the speaker is powered on and in Bluetooth pairing mode (the Bluetooth indicator light will be flashing). If not, press the Bluetooth button to activate pairing mode.
  2. On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "DMR203" from the list of available devices.
  4. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator light on the speaker will stop flashing and remain solid. You can now stream audio from your device.

6.2 AUX-in Connection

For devices without Bluetooth, use the AUX-in port:

  1. Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not supplied) to the AUX-in port on the speaker.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to the headphone jack or audio output of your device.
  3. The speaker will automatically switch to AUX mode.
