2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Placement

Carefully remove the Cool-Space 300 from its packaging. Ensure all components, including the cooling media and wheels, are present and undamaged. Position the unit on a stable, level surface. The integrated locking swivel casters allow for easy relocation.

2.2 Water Connection

The Cool-Space 300 offers two water supply options:

  1. Continuous Supply: Connect a standard garden hose to the unit's water inlet for uninterrupted operation.
  2. Fillable Reservoir: The 16-gallon (62-liter) reservoir provides up to 4 hours of cooling without a direct hose connection, offering maximum portability.

3.2 Starting the Unit

  1. Turn the FAN dial from OFF to the desired speed setting. The fan will begin to operate.
  2. Flip the PUMP switch to the ON position to activate the water pump and begin the evaporative cooling process.

Important: At shutdown, run the fan for 15 minutes with the pump off to allow the cooling media to dry, which helps prevent mold and mildew growth.

3.3 Automatic Low-Water Shutoff

The unit is equipped with an automatic low-water shutoff feature. If the water level in the reservoir becomes too low, the pump will automatically turn off to prevent damage. Refill the reservoir or connect a continuous water supply to resume pump operation.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Cool-Space 300 unit.

4.1 Cleaning the Cooling Media

The 8-inch thick cooling media is treated to resist unwanted growth. However, periodic cleaning is recommended. Refer to the 'Care instructions' in the specifications for guidance. The media can be accessed from the rear of the unit.

4.2 Draining the Reservoir

An accessible drain plug is provided for easy maintenance and draining of the 16-gallon reservoir. Regularly drain and clean the reservoir to prevent stagnant water issues.

4.3 Storage

Before storing the unit for extended periods, ensure the reservoir is completely drained and the cooling media is dry. Store in a clean, dry location.

5. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Cool-Space 300.

  • Unit Not Cooling Effectively:
Ensure the water pump is ON and the reservoir has sufficient water. Check that the cooling media is wet. In areas with very high humidity, evaporative coolers may be less effective.
  • Water Dripping from Unit:
Adjust the water flow rate if using a continuous supply. Ensure the unit is level. Check for any obstructions in the water distribution system.
  • Pump Not Operating:
Verify the pump switch is ON. Check the water level in the reservoir; the automatic low-water shutoff may have activated. Ensure the power cord is securely plugged in.
  • Fan Not Operating:
Ensure the fan dial is turned ON and the unit is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
