5. Setup and Installation
This section outlines the general installation process. Due to variations in vehicle wiring, professional installation is recommended.
5.1 Wiring Diagram Overview
Refer to the provided wiring diagram for specific connections. The system supports various central locking configurations (positive trigger, negative trigger, single switch, pneumatic).

Figure 4: Comprehensive wiring diagrams for different vehicle types.
5.2 General Installation Steps
- Disconnect Battery: Before starting, disconnect the vehicle's negative battery terminal.
- Mount Control Box: Choose a secure, dry location inside the vehicle (e.g., behind the dashboard) to mount the control box.
- Connect Power: Connect the main power wire (usually red) to a constant 12V power source. Connect the ground wire (usually black) to a suitable chassis ground point.
- Connect Central Locking Wires: Identify your vehicle's central locking system type and connect the corresponding wires from the control box to the vehicle's wiring harness as per the diagram.
- Connect Indicator Lights: Connect the wires for the direction light flashes to your vehicle's turn signal circuits.
- Connect Trunk Release (Optional): If your vehicle supports remote trunk release, connect the trunk release wire from the control box to the vehicle's trunk solenoid circuit. A relay may be required for this connection (not included).
- Connect Siren Output (Optional): If using an external siren, connect the siren output wire.
- Test Connections: Reconnect the battery and test all functions (lock, unlock, trunk release, indicator flashes) using the remote controls.

6. Operating Instructions
The system operates using the provided remote controls. Each remote has two buttons: Lock and Unlock.
- Lock Button: Press once to lock all vehicle doors. The direction lights will flash once to confirm.
- Unlock Button: Press once to unlock all vehicle doors. The direction lights will flash twice to confirm.
- Trunk Release: Press and hold the Unlock button for approximately 3 seconds to activate the remote trunk release function (if connected).
- Vehicle Locator: Pressing the lock button will also cause the direction lights to flash, assisting in locating your vehicle in a parking area.

7. Maintenance
- Remote Battery Replacement: If the remote control range decreases or the LED indicator on the remote does not light up, replace the battery (typically a CR2016 or similar coin cell battery).
- Keep Dry: Ensure the control box and remote controls are kept dry and away from extreme temperatures.
- Wiring Inspection: Periodically check wiring connections for any signs of wear, corrosion, or looseness.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| System does not respond to remote. | Dead remote battery, out of range, faulty wiring. | Replace remote battery. Move closer to the vehicle. Check power and ground connections to the control box. |
| Doors do not lock/unlock. | Incorrect central locking wiring, faulty door actuators. | Verify central locking wire connections against the diagram. Test vehicle's door actuators independently. |
| Direction lights do not flash. | Incorrect light wiring, blown fuse. | Check connections to vehicle's turn signal circuits. Inspect the fuse in the wiring harness. |
| Trunk release does not work. | Incorrect trunk release wiring, missing relay, faulty trunk solenoid. | Ensure trunk release wire is correctly connected and a relay is used if necessary. Test vehicle's trunk solenoid. |
