1. Introduction

The CATCHFACE TFX1 Smart Lock provides a secure and convenient keyless entry solution for homes, offices, apartments, hotels, garages, and schools. It integrates multiple unlocking methods including fingerprint, touchscreen password, smart key cards, smartphone app, and traditional physical keys. This manual provides comprehensive instructions for setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Key features include virtual key management for rental hosts, auto-lock functionality, low-battery alerts, and a passage mode for temporary access. For remote control and real-time access logs, the lock can be paired with an optional WiFi Gateway (sold separately).

2. Setup and Installation

The CATCHFACE TFX1 Smart Lock is designed for easy DIY installation, typically taking about 20 minutes with basic tools. Ensure your door meets the specified dimensions: 1.37"-1.88" thickness, 2.125" diameter hole, and 2.375"-2.75" backset.

2.1 Door Preparation and Latch Installation

Before installation, verify your door's dimensions. The adjustable latch can be set to 60mm or 70mm backset. Install the latch into the door edge and secure it with screws.

2.2 Panel Assembly and Wiring

Insert the square bar into the front panel and secure it with the iron wire. Carefully thread the wire connector through the door hole. Install the waterproof gasket on the exterior side of the door before attaching the back panel.

2.3 Handle and Battery Installation

Take out the battery cover from the back panel. Connect the cables between the front and back panels, ensuring they are securely fitted. Install the back panel to the door and fix it with screws. Insert 4 AA batteries into the battery compartment and fix the battery cover. Determine the correct direction for the handle (left or right-handed door) and install both the back and front handles, securing them with the provided screws.

2.4 Gateway Installation (Optional)

For remote control features, you will need to install the CATCHFACE G2 WiFi Gateway (sold separately). This allows you to lock/unlock your smart lock from anywhere, set up codes remotely, and check real-time access logs.

3. Operating Instructions

The CATCHFACE TFX1 Smart Lock offers multiple convenient ways to unlock your door.

3.1 Unlocking Methods

• Fingerprint Unlock: Place your registered fingerprint on the sensor.
• Password Unlock: Enter your anti-peep virtual password on the touchscreen keypad.
• Smart Key Card Unlock: Tap your smart key card against the card reading area.
• Smartphone App Unlock: Use the TTLock app on your smartphone to unlock remotely (with Gateway) or via Bluetooth (within range).
• Physical Key Unlock: Use the provided mechanical keys as a backup.

3.2 Smart Functions

• Auto-lock Functionality: The lock can be set to automatically lock after a specified time.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

The lock is powered by 4 AA batteries. When the low-battery alert is activated, replace all four batteries promptly. In case of complete battery depletion, you can use a power bank to charge the lock via the USB charging port for emergency access.

4.2 Cleaning

Wipe the touchscreen and fingerprint sensor regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and smudges. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your CATCHFACE TFX1 Smart Lock, try the following troubleshooting steps:

• Fingerprint Reader Issues: If the fingerprint reader is inconsistent, ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-registering your fingerprint or adding multiple fingerprints for improved recognition.
• Keypad Unresponsive: Ensure the keypad is activated by touching it. Check battery levels if the keypad remains unresponsive.
• Connectivity Problems: For app connectivity, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and you are within range. If using the WiFi Gateway, verify its power and network connection.
