3. Setup and Inflation

Follow these steps to properly inflate your camping mattress:

  1. Unroll the mattress: Lay the mattress flat on a clean, smooth surface, free from sharp objects.
  2. Locate the valve: Find the inflation valve, typically located on the side or end of the mattress.
  3. Open the valve: Open the valve cap. The mattress features an anti-return valve, which prevents air from escaping immediately after inflation.
  4. Inflate: Use a compatible camping pump (foot pump, hand pump, or electric pump) to inflate the mattress. Insert the pump nozzle firmly into the valve.
  5. Inflate to desired firmness: Inflate until the mattress reaches your desired firmness. Avoid over-inflating.
  6. Close the valve: Once inflated, quickly close the valve cap securely to prevent air leakage.

4. Deflation and Storage

To deflate and store your mattress:

  1. Open the valve: Open the valve cap completely to allow air to escape.
  2. Roll or press: Begin rolling the mattress tightly from the end opposite the valve, or press down to expel air.
  3. Expel all air: Ensure all air is expelled for compact storage.
  4. Close the valve: Close the valve cap once deflated.
  5. Store: Fold or roll the mattress and place it in its storage bag (if included). Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

5. Maintenance and Repair

Cleaning

Clean the mattress with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the mattress is completely dry before storing.

Repairing a Puncture

Your mattress comes with a repair patch. Follow these steps for minor punctures:

  1. Locate the puncture: Inflate the mattress and listen for escaping air, or apply soapy water to the surface to find bubbles.
  2. Clean and dry: Ensure the area around the puncture is clean and completely dry.
  3. Apply the patch: Peel off the backing from the repair patch and firmly press it over the puncture. Hold for several minutes to ensure adhesion.
  4. Allow to cure: Wait a few hours before re-inflating the mattress to allow the adhesive to fully cure.

6. Troubleshooting

Mattress deflates quickly:

  • Check the valve: Ensure the valve cap is securely closed.
  • Inspect for punctures: Carefully check the mattress surface for any small holes or tears. Use the repair patch if a puncture is found.
  • Temperature changes: Air pressure can decrease in colder temperatures, making the mattress feel softer. Re-inflate slightly if needed.

Difficulty inflating:

  • Ensure valve is fully open: Make sure the valve is completely open for air intake.
  • Check pump connection: Ensure the pump nozzle is firmly inserted into the valve.
