1. Introduction

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the underside of the scale.
  2. Insert the 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2 Initial Placement

Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface. Ensure the environment is free from drafts and vibrations, which can affect measurement accuracy.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

  • Press the ON button to turn the scale on.
  • Press the OFF button to turn the scale off.
  • The scale features an auto-off function after 180 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery life.

4.2 Unit Conversion

To switch between available weighing units, press the MODE button repeatedly. The scale supports 6 units:

  • g (grams)
  • oz (ounces)
  • ozt (troy ounces)
  • dwt (pennyweights)
  • ct (carats)
  • gn (grains)

4.3 Tare Function

The Tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container, providing only the net weight of the item being measured.

  1. Place an empty container (e.g., the weighing pan) on the scale platform.
  2. Wait for the display to stabilize.
  3. Press the TARE button. The display will reset to zero.
  4. Add the item you wish to weigh into the container. The display will show only the net weight of the item.

4.4 Calibration

Regular calibration ensures the accuracy of your scale. A 50g calibration weight is included for this purpose.

  1. Turn the scale ON and wait for the display to show '0.000g'.
  2. Press and hold the MODE button until 'CAL' appears on the display.
  3. Press the MODE button again. The display will show the required calibration weight (e.g., '50.000g').
  4. Carefully place the 50g calibration weight in the center of the weighing platform.
  5. Wait for the display to show 'PASS' and then return to normal weighing mode. Calibration is complete.

4.5 Weighing Items

Place the item(s) to be weighed gently onto the center of the weighing platform. For powders or small items, use the included weighing pan.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the scale. Avoid abrasive cleaners or submerging the scale in water.
  • Protection: The quality ABS flip cover protects the weighing pan and sensors from bumps and rubs, enhancing durability. Keep the cover closed when not in use.
  • Storage: Store the scale in its original packaging or a protective case in a dry, stable environment to prevent dust accumulation and damage.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Low Battery Indicator: If the LCD displays a low battery symbol, replace the 2 AAA batteries promptly.
  • Overload Indicator: If 'O-Ld' or a similar message appears, the scale is overloaded. Remove items immediately to prevent damage.
  • Unstable Position Indicator: If the display shows an 'UNST' or similar message, the scale is on an unstable surface. Move it to a flat, stable, and vibration-free location.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the scale is calibrated regularly. Avoid drafts and vibrations during weighing. Ensure the weighing pan is clean and correctly placed.
