4.2 Attaching Outrigger Feet and Spikes/Rubber Feet

For optimal stability and sound performance, attach the provided outrigger feet to the base of the speaker. Depending on your flooring, choose between the spikes (for carpeted surfaces) or rubber feet (for hard floors) to screw into the outriggers. Ensure the speaker is level and stable.

4.3 Speaker Placement

Proper speaker placement is crucial for achieving the best sound quality. Consider the following guidelines:

  • Stereo Setup: Place the speakers equidistant from your primary listening position, forming an equilateral triangle.
  • Distance from Walls: Experiment with placing the speakers away from walls to reduce bass boom and improve soundstage. A distance of 1-3 feet (30-90 cm) from the rear wall is a good starting point.
  • Toe-in: Angle the speakers slightly inward towards the listening position (toe-in) to optimize imaging and soundstage.
  • Room Acoustics: Room furnishings, curtains, and carpets can affect sound. Adjust placement to compensate for room characteristics.

4.4 Connecting to an Amplifier

The Bronze 500 speakers are designed for wired connectivity. Ensure your amplifier is turned off before making any connections.

  1. Use high-quality speaker cables.
  2. Connect the positive (+) terminal (red) on the speaker to the positive (+) terminal on your amplifier.
  3. Connect the negative (-) terminal (black) on the speaker to the negative (-) terminal on your amplifier.
  4. If bi-wiring or bi-amping, refer to your amplifier's manual for specific instructions. The Bronze 500 supports bi-wiring.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Initial Power On

Once all connections are secure, turn on your amplifier. Start with the volume at its lowest setting and gradually increase it to a comfortable listening level.

5.2 Break-in Period

Like many high-fidelity speakers, the Bronze 500 may benefit from a break-in period. Allow approximately 50-100 hours of playback at moderate volumes for the drivers to fully settle and achieve their optimal performance.

5.3 Volume Control

Adjust the volume using your amplifier's controls. Avoid excessively high volumes for prolonged periods, as this can damage the speakers and your hearing.

5.4 Grille Usage

The speaker comes with a removable grille. You may choose to use the speakers with or without the grille. Removing the grille can sometimes offer a slight improvement in sound clarity, while keeping it on provides protection for the drivers.

6. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Dust the speaker cabinets with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
  • Grilles: The grilles can be gently cleaned with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner on a low setting.
  • Avoid Moisture: Keep the speakers away from excessive moisture and direct sunlight.
  • Driver Protection: Avoid touching the speaker drivers (tweeter and woofers) as this can cause damage.
