Introduction
The Keychron K1 is a tenkeyless (87-key) ultra-slim mechanical keyboard designed for high productivity and a superior typing experience. Setup
- Unboxing: Carefully remove the keyboard and all accessories from the packaging. The box typically includes the Keychron K1 keyboard, a USB Type-C cable, extra keycaps for Mac/Windows, and a keycap puller.
- Initial Charge: For optimal performance, it is recommended to fully charge the keyboard before first use. Connect the USB Type-C cable to the keyboard and a power source (e.g., computer USB port, wall adapter).
- OS Mode Selection: Locate the operating system switch on the side of the keyboard. Slide it to the appropriate position for your device (Win/Android or Mac/iOS).
- Connectivity Mode Selection: Locate the connectivity switch on the side of the keyboard. Slide it to 'Bluetooth' for wireless use or 'Cable' for wired use.

Operating Instructions
Connectivity
- Bluetooth Pairing:
- Ensure the keyboard is in 'Bluetooth' mode and the correct OS mode is selected.
- Press and hold the 'Fn' key along with '1', '2', or '3' for 4 seconds to enter pairing mode for device 1, 2, or 3 respectively. The corresponding key will flash rapidly.
- On your device (computer, tablet, phone), search for Bluetooth devices and select 'Keychron K1' to connect.
- Once connected, the key will stop flashing. You can switch between paired devices by pressing 'Fn' + '1', '2', or '3' briefly.
- Wired Connection: Connect the USB Type-C cable from the keyboard to your device. Ensure the connectivity switch is set to 'Cable' mode.
Backlight Control
- Adjust Brightness: Press 'Fn' + 'F5' to decrease brightness and 'Fn' + 'F6' to increase brightness.
- Change Lighting Mode: Press the dedicated light effect key (usually located in the top right corner, often with a lightbulb icon) to cycle through various static and flashing backlight modes.
Function Keys
The top row of keys (F1-F12) provides multimedia and system control functions when pressed in conjunction with the 'Fn' key. These functions include screen brightness adjustment, media playback controls (play/pause, next/previous track), and volume control.
Keycap Replacement
To replace keycaps, use the included keycap puller. Gently hook the puller onto the keycap and pull upwards. To install a new keycap, align it with the switch stem and press down firmly until it clicks into place. Extra keycaps are provided to adapt the keyboard layout for Mac or Windows operating systems.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe down the keycaps and keyboard body with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn marks or finger oils, a mild cleaning solution can be used. Ensure the keyboard is powered off and disconnected before cleaning.
- Keycap Care: While durable, avoid excessive force when removing or installing keycaps to prevent damage to the switch stems.
- Storage: Store the keyboard in a dry, dust-free environment when not in use.
Troubleshooting
Bluetooth Connectivity Issues
If you experience difficulty connecting via Bluetooth:
- Hard Reset: Perform a hard reset by holding 'Fn' + 'Z' + 'J' simultaneously for a few seconds. This can resolve some connectivity glitches.
- Driver Updates: Ensure your device's Bluetooth drivers are up to date.
- Interference: Minimize potential interference from other wireless devices.
- Wired Alternative: If wireless connection remains unstable, use the USB Type-C wired mode for a reliable connection.
