Thank you for choosing the AEGIS 1.7 Cubic Feet Digital Safe. This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your new security safe. Please read these instructions carefully before use to ensure optimal performance and security.

This electronic security cabinet is designed to protect your valuable possessions, including important documents, jewelry, handguns, and cards. Its robust construction and advanced locking mechanisms offer peace of mind for home, office, or dorm use.

Setup

1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the safe from its packaging. Inspect the safe for any signs of damage. Ensure all components, including the emergency keys and instruction manual, are present.

2. Battery Installation

Locate the battery compartment inside the safe door. Insert 4 new 1.5V AA Alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the battery cover securely.

Alternatively, the safe can be powered using a USB-C cable (not included) connected to the external power port on the keypad, especially useful if batteries are depleted or forgotten.

3. Setting Your Personal Code

With the safe door open, press the red reset button located on the inside of the door, near the hinge. The keypad will beep, and the green light will illuminate. Enter your desired 3 to 8 digit code, then press the '#' or 'E' button to confirm. Test your new code with the door open to ensure it works correctly before closing the safe.

Operating Instructions

1. Opening the Safe with Digital Code

Enter your personal 3 to 8 digit code on the digital keypad. If the code is correct, the green light will illuminate. Turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door.

2. Opening the Safe with Emergency Key

In case of forgotten password or dead batteries, the safe can be opened using the emergency key. Remove the cover plate on the keypad to reveal the keyhole. Insert the emergency key and turn it counter-clockwise while simultaneously turning the knob clockwise to open the safe.

3. Password Reset

To reset the password, open the safe door. Press the red reset button inside the door. Enter your new 3-8 digit code and confirm with '#' or 'E'.

4. Low Battery Warning

When the batteries are low, the yellow light on the keypad will illuminate, indicating that the batteries need to be replaced soon. Replace all 4 AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation.

Mounting Instructions

The AEGIS safe features two pre-drilled holes on both the bottom and back for secure mounting to a wall or floor. This enhances security by preventing unauthorized removal of the safe.

Steps for Mounting:

  1. Choose a suitable location for mounting, ensuring it is a solid surface (e.g., concrete wall, wooden stud, or sturdy floor).
  2. Mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes inside the safe.
  3. Drill pilot holes into the wall or floor using an appropriate drill bit size for your mounting hardware (not included).
  4. Align the safe with the drilled holes and secure it using suitable bolts or screws. Ensure the safe is firmly attached and does not wobble.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries annually or when the low battery indicator illuminates to ensure reliable operation.
  • Key Storage: Store emergency keys in a secure location away from the safe and out of reach of unauthorized individuals.
