4. Setup Instructions

1. Unpack the Keyboard: Carefully remove the keyboard and all accessories from the packaging.
2. Connect the USB-C Cable:
   • Insert the USB-C end of the provided cable into the port on the back of the keyboard.
   • Connect the other end of the cable (USB-A) to an available USB port on your computer (Laptop or PC).

   The keyboard is plug-and-play and should be recognized by your operating system automatically.

3. Adjust Keyboard Angle (Optional): Extend the two-stage support legs located on the underside of the keyboard to achieve your preferred typing angle.
4. Install Software (Optional for Customization): For full key programmability and adjustable trigger stroke features, download the official EPOMAKER software from the manufacturer's website. Follow the software installation instructions.

5. Operating Instructions

Basic Usage:

The EPOMAKER Niz X87 functions as a standard QWERTY keyboard. Simply begin typing after connecting it to your computer.

Key Customization and Macros:

Utilize the dedicated software to:

• Program Individual Keys: Assign new functions or macros to any key on the keyboard.
• Create Macros: Record and assign sequences of keystrokes to a single key for increased efficiency.
• Adjust Trigger Stroke: Modify the actuation point of the keys between 2mm and 3mm. The software also allows for fine-tuning in 0.1mm increments. After adjustment, the firmware will be written, and the setting will persist after reboot.

Switch Customization (Optional):

The keyboard comes with 35g electro-capacitive switches. If you prefer a heavier keypress, you can use the included 10g springs. To install:

1. Use the keycap puller to carefully remove the desired keycaps.
2. Place a 10g spring onto the stem of the switch.
3. Re-attach the keycap, ensuring it is securely seated.

The included switch tester can be used to experiment with different spring weights before full installation.

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the keyboard surface. For deeper cleaning, use a keycap puller to remove keycaps and clean underneath with compressed air or a small brush. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Cable Care: Avoid bending or twisting the USB-C cable excessively to prevent damage. Utilize the three-way outlet groove for proper cable routing.
• Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the keyboard in a dry, dust-free environment.

7. Troubleshooting

Keyboard Not Responding:

• Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer.
• Try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port on your computer.
• Test the keyboard on another computer to rule out a computer-specific issue.
• Restart your computer.

Keys Not Registering or Double-Typing:

• Check for any debris or foreign objects under the affected keycaps. Remove keycaps with the provided puller and clean.
• If using custom trigger stroke settings, try resetting them to default via the software.

Custom Settings Not Applying:

• Ensure the customization software is installed correctly and running.
• Verify that you have saved and applied the settings within the software.
• Update the keyboard firmware if an update is available through the software.
