Setup
Unpacking and Inspection:
Carefully remove the generator from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Report any damage to your dealer immediately.
Adding Engine Oil:
The generator is shipped without engine oil. Before first use, add the recommended amount of 10W-30 engine oil using the provided oil funnel. Do not overfill. Refer to the oil capacity in the specifications section.
Adding Fuel:
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use E85 or any other ethanol blend exceeding 10%. Fill the fuel tank carefully, avoiding spills. Do not fill above the fuel filter screen.
Battery Connection (for Electric/Remote Start):
Connect the battery terminals as instructed in the quick start guide. Ensure positive (+) and negative (-) connections are correct to prevent damage.
Operating Instructions
Starting the Generator:
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface outdoors, away from windows and vents.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "ON" position.
- Set the engine switch to "ON".
- For cold starts, move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position.
- Electric Start: Press and hold the electric start button until the engine starts.
- Remote Start: Use the provided remote control to start the generator.
- Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the "RUN" position.
Connecting Electrical Devices:
Plug your devices into the appropriate outlets. Do not overload the generator. The total running wattage of all connected devices must not exceed 3500 watts. The generator features a 20A 120V AC duplex outlet and a 30A 120V AC RV outlet (L5-30R).

Stopping the Generator:
- Disconnect all electrical loads.
- Turn the engine switch to "OFF".
- Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position.

The SUA4000iER supports parallel operation with another compatible A-iPower inverter generator to increase total power output. Use a parallel kit (sold separately) and follow its instructions carefully.

Oil Change Procedure:
Place a drain pan under the oil drain plug. Remove the drain plug and oil fill cap to allow oil to drain completely. Reinstall the drain plug and refill with new, recommended oil. Check oil level with the dipstick.
Air Filter Cleaning:
Remove the air filter cover and foam element. Wash the foam element in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow to air dry completely. Lightly oil the foam element with engine oil and squeeze out excess before reinstalling.
