Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Camera

  • Camera Body: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the camera body. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth.
  • Lens: Use a lens brush to remove dust, then a lens cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth. Avoid touching the lens surface with your fingers.
  • Sensor: Sensor cleaning should only be performed by authorized service personnel or experienced users with appropriate tools. Improper cleaning can cause permanent damage.
  • LCD Screen: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for screens.

2. Battery Care

Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to approximately 50% capacity.

3. Firmware Updates

Periodically check the official Leica website for firmware updates. Updates can improve camera performance, add new features, and fix bugs. Follow the instructions provided by Leica carefully when performing an update.
