Included Components:

  • Four (4) Satellite Speakers
  • One (1) In-Ground Subwoofer
  • One (1) Sonance DSP Amplifier
  • Four (4) Ground Stakes for satellite speakers
  • Twelve (12) Silicone Filled Wire Nuts

2. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of your Sonance Patio Series system. The satellite speakers are designed for ground stake mounting, while the subwoofer is an in-ground unit.

2.1 Speaker Placement

  • Satellite Speakers: Position the four satellite speakers strategically around your listening area to ensure even sound distribution. Use the provided ground stakes to secure them firmly in the soil.
  • In-Ground Subwoofer: The subwoofer should be buried in the ground, with only its top portion exposed. Choose a central location within your listening area for the best bass response.
  • Environmental Considerations: While designed for outdoor use, avoid placing speakers in areas prone to standing water or excessive moisture. The system is NOT waterproof.

2.2 Wiring Connections

Connect the satellite speakers and subwoofer to the Sonance DSP amplifier using appropriate outdoor-rated speaker wire (not included). Use the provided silicone filled wire nuts for secure and weather-resistant connections. Ensure all connections are tight and properly insulated to prevent short circuits and moisture ingress.

2.3 Power Connection

The Sonance DSP amplifier requires a standard corded electric power source. Connect the amplifier to a suitable outdoor-rated power outlet. It is recommended to use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protected outlet for outdoor electrical safety.

3. Operating Instructions

Once installed and powered, your Sonance Patio Series system is ready for operation.

3.1 Audio Input

The DSP amplifier supports various connectivity protocols including Coaxial and RCA. Connect your audio source (e.g., Laptop, Tablet, Smartphone) to the amplifier using the appropriate cables.

3.2 Control Method

This system supports voice control. Refer to the specific instructions for your voice control device for pairing and command setup. Ensure your voice control device is within range and properly configured to interact with the amplifier.

3.3 Sound Adjustment

The DSP amplifier is designed to optimize sound performance for your outdoor environment. Adjust volume and other audio settings via your connected audio source or voice control commands.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help ensure the longevity and performance of your speaker system.

  • Cleaning: The speakers and subwoofer are constructed from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS). Clean the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish.
  • Moisture Protection: As the system is NOT waterproof, ensure it is not exposed to direct water spray from sprinklers or prolonged standing water. While designed for outdoor environments, protection from extreme weather conditions is recommended.
  • Connection Check: Periodically inspect all wiring connections for corrosion or damage. Re-secure any loose connections.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Sonance Patio Series system, consider the following basic troubleshooting steps:

  • No Sound:
    • Verify the amplifier is powered on and receiving electricity.
    • Check all audio input cables (Coaxial, RCA) are securely connected to both the amplifier and the audio source.
    • Ensure speaker wires are correctly connected to the amplifier and speakers, with no frayed strands causing short circuits.
    • Confirm the audio source is playing and its volume is turned up.
  • Distorted Sound:
    • Reduce the volume level from your audio source and the amplifier.
    • Check for damaged speaker wires or loose connections.
    • Ensure the impedance of the speakers matches the amplifier's requirements (8 Ohm).
  • Voice Control Issues:
    • Ensure your voice control device is properly paired and within range of the amplifier.
    • Check the device's internet connection if it relies on cloud services.

If problems persist after attempting these steps, contact Sonance customer support for further assistance.
