Safety Instructions

Setup
1. Unpacking and Initial Cleaning
- Remove all packaging materials from the machine.
- Wash the water tank, drip tray, and used capsule container with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
2. Filling the Water Tank
- Remove the water tank from the back of the machine.
- Fill the tank with fresh, cold drinking water up to the MAX indication.
- Place the water tank back onto the machine securely.

3. First Use and Priming
- Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet.
- Place a container (at least 200 ml) under the coffee spout.
- Press the power button (U) to turn on the machine. The buttons will flash.
- Once the buttons stop flashing and remain steadily lit, press any coffee button to start the priming process. Water will flow through the system.
- Repeat this process 2-3 times until clear water flows out. The machine is now ready for use.
Operating the Coffee Machine
1. Turning On/Off
- Press the power button (U) to turn the machine on or off.
- The machine will automatically turn off after 30 minutes of inactivity to save energy.

2. Brewing Coffee
- Ensure the water tank is filled.
- Lift the lever to open the capsule compartment.
- Insert a L'OR Espresso, L'OR Barista, or Nespresso compatible capsule. For double coffees, use a L'OR Barista double capsule.
- Close the lever firmly.
- Place your cup(s) on the drip tray. For larger cups, the drip tray can be removed.
- Select your desired coffee type by pressing the corresponding button (e.g., Espresso, Lungo, Double Espresso). The machine will automatically detect the capsule type and adjust the brewing process.
- The machine will stop automatically once the brewing is complete.

3. Adjusting Coffee Volume
You can customize the volume of your coffee:
- Insert a capsule and close the lever.
- Press and hold the desired coffee button. Release the button when your cup contains the preferred amount of coffee.
- The machine will remember this setting for future brews of the same capsule type.
Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your coffee machine.
1. Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray and Used Capsule Container: Empty and rinse daily. These parts are not dishwasher safe.
- Water Tank: Rinse daily and refill with fresh water.
- Machine Exterior: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents.
2. Descaling
Descaling is crucial to prevent mineral buildup, especially in areas with hard water. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage. Refer to the Philips website or local support for recommended descaling solutions and procedures.
- Empty the water tank and fill it with the descaling solution as per the product instructions.
- Place a large container (at least 1 liter) under the coffee spout.
- Follow the specific descaling instructions provided with your descaling solution or on the Philips support website for the LM8012/00 model.
- After descaling, rinse the machine by running several cycles with fresh water to remove any residue.
