2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure the following items are present:

  • 1x THERMOBIO Infrared Thermometer
  • 2x AAA Batteries
  • 1x Instruction Manual (this document)

Inspect the thermometer for any visible damage. If any components are missing or damaged, contact customer support immediately.

2.2 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover at the bottom of the thermometer handle.
  2. Slide the cover open in the direction indicated by the arrow.
  3. Insert the two AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as marked inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely until it clicks into place.

Note:

  • Always use new AAA batteries.
  • Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Powering On/Off

To power on the thermometer, simply press the measurement trigger button located on the handle. The device will automatically power off after 30 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery life.

3.2 Taking a Temperature Measurement

The THERMOBIO thermometer is designed for non-contact measurement. For accurate readings:

  1. Ensure the thermometer is in the correct mode (Body Mode for human temperature, Object Mode for surface temperature). Use the O/B button to switch between modes.
  2. Aim the thermometer at the center of the forehead from a distance of 1-2 inches (2-5 cm). Ensure there is no hair, sweat, or cosmetics obstructing the measurement area.
  3. Press and release the measurement trigger button.
  4. The temperature reading will be displayed on the screen within 1 second.

3.3 Understanding the Display and Buttons

  • Temperature Indicator: Displays the measured temperature.
  • Sound Indicator: Shows if the sound is enabled or disabled.
  • Memory Indicator: Indicates memory storage function.
  • Object Measurement Mode: Icon for measuring object temperatures.
  • Body Measurement Mode: Icon for measuring body temperatures.
  • Battery Indicator: Shows current battery level.
  • Temperature Unit (°C/°F) Toggle Button: Press to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
  • Sound Toggle Button: Press to turn the sound on or off.
  • Memory Button (M): Press to access stored measurements. The thermometer can store up to 32 measurements.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Thermometer

To ensure accurate readings and hygiene, clean the thermometer regularly:

  • Use a soft cloth slightly dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol to wipe the thermometer body.
  • For the probe and lens, use a cotton swab or a soft cloth dampened with alcohol. Gently wipe the surface.
  • Do not immerse the thermometer in water or any other liquid.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, thinners, or benzene for cleaning.
  • Allow the thermometer to air dry completely before storage or next use.

4.2 Storage

Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, dust, and extreme temperatures. Keep it out of reach of children.
