Setup
1. Battery Installation and Charging
- Locate the battery compartment on the scanner handle.
- Insert the provided lithium-ion battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment securely.
- Connect the scanner to a power source using the USB cable. Allow the battery to fully charge before first use.
2. Bluetooth Pairing
- Ensure the scanner is powered on.
- On your host device (laptop, tablet, smartphone), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "WWS650" from the list of discovered devices.
- Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process. A successful connection will typically be indicated by an LED on the scanner.
Operation
1. Basic Scanning
- Point the scanner's window at the barcode you wish to scan.
- Press and hold the trigger button. A red aiming beam will appear.
- Center the aiming beam over the barcode.
- Upon a successful scan, the scanner will emit a beep and/or the LED indicator will flash. The scanned data will be transmitted to your connected host device.
2. Batch Mode
The WWS650 can store barcodes in its internal memory when not connected to a host device or when batch mode is activated. This is useful for inventory tasks where real-time data transmission is not required.
- To activate batch mode, scan the specific "Enter Batch Mode" configuration barcode (refer to the separate configuration guide for this barcode).
- Scan barcodes as usual. Each successful scan will be stored in memory.
- To transmit stored data, connect the scanner to your host device and scan the "Transmit Data" configuration barcode.
- To clear stored data, scan the "Clear Batch Data" configuration barcode.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Scanner
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner to wipe the exterior of the scanner.
- For the scanning window, use a lens cleaning cloth to avoid scratches.
- Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the device.
- Ensure the scanner is powered off and disconnected from any power source before cleaning.
2. Battery Care
- Charge the battery regularly to maintain optimal performance.
- Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- If the scanner will not be used for an extended period, store it with a partial charge (around 50%) in a cool, dry place.
- The lithium-ion battery is user-replaceable without tools. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section for replacement instructions.
