This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, setup, and operation of your Refoss Smart Light Switch (Model MSS510). This single-pole smart switch offers convenient control of your lighting through various methods, including smartphone apps, voice commands, and the physical button. It is compatible with leading smart home platforms such as Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Hey Google, and operates on a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper functionality and safety.

Important Information & Requirements
- This switch is designed for single pole installation only. It is not compatible with 3-way or dimmer switch configurations.
- A neutral wire is required for the operation of this smart switch. Neutral wires are typically white. Ensure your electrical box has a neutral wire before installation.
- Requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection. This device does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.
- Fits standard 1/2/3/4 gang Decora/GFCI wallplates.
- Do not use this smart switch with smart bulbs.

Installation
Before beginning installation, ensure you have basic electrical knowledge and are comfortable working with household wiring. If you are unsure, please consult a qualified electrician.
1. Safety First: Turn Off Power
Locate your circuit breaker panel and turn off the power to the light switch you intend to replace. Verify the power is off by attempting to turn the light on from the switch.

2. Remove Existing Switch
Carefully remove the faceplate of your existing switch. Unscrew the mounting screws and gently pull the switch out from the electrical box. Do not disconnect any wires yet.
3. Identify Wires
Identify the following wires in your electrical box. Use the provided wire labels to mark them for easy identification:
- Line Wire (Lin): This is the hot wire bringing power from the circuit breaker. Use a voltage detector to confirm.
- Load Wire (Lout): This wire connects to your light fixture.
- Neutral Wire (Neutral): This is typically a white wire. It is essential for the smart switch.
- Ground Wire (Ground): This is usually a bare copper or green insulated wire.

4. Connect the Smart Switch
Disconnect the wires from your old switch. Connect the wires from the Refoss Smart Light Switch to the corresponding wires in your electrical box using the provided wire nuts. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Connect the Line (Lin) wire from the switch to the identified Line wire in the box.
- Connect the Load (Lout) wire from the switch to the identified Load wire in the box.
- Connect the Neutral (N) wire from the switch to the identified Neutral wire in the box.
- Connect the Ground (G) wire from the switch to the identified Ground wire in the box.

5. Secure and Restore Power
Gently push the connected wires back into the electrical box. Secure the smart switch with the mounting screws and attach the new wallplate. Once secured, return to your circuit breaker panel and turn the power back on.

Setup & App Integration
The Refoss Smart Light Switch can be controlled via the Apple Home app, Amazon Alexa, or Hey Google. For initial setup and advanced features, the eHomeLife app is recommended.
1. Apple HomeKit Setup
Ensure your smartphone is running iOS 13.0 or higher. Connect your smartphone to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network as your smart switch.
- Open the Apple Home app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap the "+" icon to add an accessory.
- Select "Add or Scan Accessory".
- When prompted for the HomeKit setup code, tap "I Don't Have a Code or Cannot Scan" and manually enter the 8-digit code found on the switch or its packaging.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup, including assigning the switch to a room and giving it a name.

To enable HomeKit remote control (controlling your device when away from home), you need a HomePod, an Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD, or an iPad connected to your home Wi-Fi and configured as a home hub. For more details, please check the Apple HomeKit official website.
2. eHomeLife App Setup & Remote Control
The eHomeLife app provides additional features and is necessary for firmware updates and linking with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
- Download the eHomeLife app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Register or log in to your eHomeLife account.
- Ensure your smartphone is connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network as your smart switch.
- In the eHomeLife app, select "Add Device" and choose "Smart Wall Switch".
- Follow the in-app instructions to add your device.

3. Amazon Alexa & Hey Google Integration
After setting up your device in the eHomeLife app, you can link your Refoss account to Amazon Alexa or Hey Google to enable voice control.
- Open the Amazon Alexa app or Google Home app.
- Navigate to the "Skills & Games" section (Alexa) or "Works with Google" section (Google Home).
- Search for "eHomeLife" and enable the skill/service.
- Link your eHomeLife account when prompted.
- Discover devices to add your smart switch.

Operating Your Smart Switch
1. Manual Control
You can always control the light by pressing the physical button on the smart switch. Press the bottom of the paddle to toggle the light on or off.

2. Voice Control
After integrating with Amazon Alexa or Hey Google, you can use voice commands to control your light switch. For example: "Hey Google, turn on the living room light" or "Alexa, turn off the kitchen light."

3. Remote Control via Smartphone App
Control your light switch from anywhere using the eHomeLife app or Apple Home app (with a home hub for remote access). Simply open the app and tap the switch icon to toggle the light.

4. Scenes and Routines
Create custom scenes and routines within the eHomeLife app to automate your lighting. Group multiple Refoss devices to activate with a single tap or voice command. Set schedules for automatic on/off times, countdowns, or integrate with sunrise/sunset settings for energy saving.

5. Local and Offline Control
When your smart device and phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, local control is activated, providing millisecond-level response times. Even if your router loses internet connection, you can still control the smart device through the eHomeLife app, and saved routines will continue to run.

Maintenance
Firmware Updates
To ensure optimal performance and stability, it is recommended to keep your smart switch's firmware updated. Firmware updates can be performed through the eHomeLife app.
- Connect your phone to the same Wi-Fi network your HomeKit accessory is connected to.
- Open the eHomeLife app and navigate to "Account" > "Firmware update".
- Tap "Update" and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Cleaning
Wipe the switch and wallplate with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Refoss Smart Light Switch, please consider the following common solutions:
- Switch not responding:
- Ensure power is on at the circuit breaker.
- Verify the switch is properly wired, especially the neutral wire connection.
- Check your Wi-Fi connection. The switch requires a stable 2.4GHz network.
- Restart your Wi-Fi router.
- Cannot connect to Wi-Fi:
- Confirm your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. 5GHz networks are not supported.
- Ensure the switch is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
- Temporarily disable 5GHz on your router during setup if you have a dual-band router.
- Reset the smart switch (refer to the eHomeLife app or manufacturer's guide for reset instructions).
- Voice control not working:
- Ensure your Refoss account is correctly linked in the Amazon Alexa or Google Home app.
- Verify the device name in the app matches the name you are using in voice commands.
- Check the internet connection of your smart speaker/device.
