Setup Guide

  1. Connect the Handset: Plug the coiled cord from the handset into the handset port on the left side of the phone base.
  2. Connect to Network: Connect an Ethernet cable from your network switch or router to the LAN port on the back of the phone. If your network supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), the phone will power on automatically.
  3. Connect Power (if no PoE): If PoE is not available, connect an appropriate AC power adapter (sold separately) to the power port on the back of the phone and plug it into a power outlet.
  4. Initial Boot-up: The phone will power on and begin its boot sequence. This may take a few moments as it connects to the network and registers with your communication system.

Operating Instructions

Basic Call Functions

  • Making a Call: Lift the handset or press the Speakerphone button. Dial the desired number using the numeric keypad. Press the Dial soft key or wait for the call to connect.
  • Answering a Call: When the phone rings, lift the handset or press the Speakerphone button.
  • Ending a Call: Replace the handset in the cradle or press the End Call soft key.

Programmable Keys

The Mitel 6910 IP Phone features eight programmable keys located on either side of the display. These keys can be configured for various functions such as speed dials, line appearances, or feature access. Consult your system administrator for specific programming details.

Display Navigation

The 3.4-inch LCD display shows call information, menu options, and status indicators. Use the navigation cluster (up, down, left, right, and select buttons) below the display to scroll through menus and make selections.

Audio Controls

  • Volume Control: Use the volume up and down buttons (located below the handset) to adjust the handset, speakerphone, or ringer volume.
  • Mute: Press the Mute button (microphone icon) to mute your microphone during a call. Press again to unmute.
  • Speakerphone: Press the Speakerphone button (speaker icon) to toggle between handset and speakerphone mode.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the phone's surface. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents. Do not spray liquids directly onto the phone.
  • Environmental Conditions: Keep the phone away from excessive heat, direct sunlight, and moisture. Ensure proper ventilation around the device.
  • Cord Management: Ensure all cords are neatly arranged and not pinched or tangled to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting
