1. Introduction

• Qualified Personnel: Installation and servicing should only be performed by qualified personnel.
• Input Voltage Selection: Ensure the AC input voltage selection switch is set correctly (115VAC or 230VAC) before connecting to the mains power. Incorrect setting can cause damage to the unit.
• Proper Grounding: Always connect the protective earth (ground) terminal to a proper ground connection to prevent electric shock.
• Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the power supply to prevent overheating. Do not obstruct cooling vents.
• Protections: This unit includes built-in protections against short circuit, overload, over voltage, and over temperature. If a protection circuit is activated, disconnect power, resolve the issue, and then reconnect power.
• Environmental Conditions: Do not operate the unit in environments exceeding its specified temperature and humidity ranges.

4. Setup

4.1. Mounting

The LRS-200-12 is an enclosed power supply designed for integration into systems. Ensure it is mounted in a location that allows for adequate airflow and heat dissipation. Maintain proper clearance around the unit to prevent overheating.

4.2. AC Input Voltage Selection

Before connecting the power supply to the AC mains, verify the position of the voltage selection switch. This switch is typically red and located on the side of the unit (refer to Figure 3.1).

• For 115VAC input (90-132VAC range), set the switch to 115V.
• For 230VAC input (180-264VAC range), set the switch to 230V.

CAUTION: Setting the switch incorrectly can cause permanent damage to the power supply and connected equipment.

4.3. Wiring Connections

Connect the input and output wiring to the designated screw terminal blocks.

• AC Input: Connect the Live (L), Neutral (N), and Earth Ground (GND) wires from your AC source to the corresponding terminals.
• DC Output: Connect the positive (+V) and negative (-V) terminals to your load. Ensure correct polarity.

Tighten all screw terminals securely to prevent loose connections, which can lead to arcing or intermittent operation.

5. Operating Instructions

Once properly installed and wired, the LRS-200-12 power supply is ready for operation.

• Power On: Apply AC power to the input terminals. The power indicator LED (if present) should illuminate, indicating normal operation.
• Output Voltage: The unit provides a fixed 12V DC output. Do not attempt to adjust the output voltage unless specified by the manufacturer for a particular model variant.
• Load Capacity: Ensure the connected load does not exceed the maximum output current of 17A or the total output power of 204W to prevent overload protection activation.
• Operating Temperature: The power supply is designed to operate within a temperature range of -30°C to 70°C. Operating outside this range may affect performance and lifespan.

6. Maintenance

The LRS-200-12 power supply is designed for long-term, reliable operation with minimal maintenance.

• Cleaning: Periodically inspect the unit for dust accumulation, especially around ventilation openings. Disconnect power before gently cleaning with a soft, dry cloth or compressed air.
• Environmental Checks: Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified temperature and humidity limits. Avoid excessive vibration (unit can withstand 5G vibration test, but continuous high vibration should be avoided).
• No User-Serviceable Parts: Do not attempt to open or repair the power supply. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Opening the unit will void the warranty.

7. Troubleshooting

If the power supply is not functioning as expected, consider the following:

• No Output Power:
  • Check if AC input power is present and correctly connected.
  • Verify the AC input voltage selection switch is set correctly (115V or 230V).
  • Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses in the AC input line.
• Intermittent Output / Unit Shuts Down:
  • Overload Protection: Disconnect the load and check if the power supply resumes normal operation. Reduce the load if it exceeds 17A or 204W.
  • Short Circuit Protection: Disconnect the load and check for any short circuits in the output wiring or the connected device.
  • Over Temperature Protection: Ensure adequate ventilation. If the unit is hot, allow it to cool down. Reduce ambient temperature if necessary.
• Incorrect Output Voltage:
  • Confirm the model is LRS-200-12 for 12V output.
  • Check load regulation; a very high load might cause a slight voltage drop.
