4. Setup and Assembly

Before operating the table saw, proper assembly and setup are crucial for safety and performance.

4.1 Unpacking

  • Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  • Check for any damage during transit. Report any damage immediately to your supplier.
  • Verify that all parts listed in the packing contents are present.

4.2 Assembly of the Stand

Assemble the stand according to the provided diagrams. Ensure all bolts are securely tightened, but avoid over-tightening to prevent damage to plastic components.

4.3 Installing the Saw Blade

  1. Ensure the saw is unplugged.
  2. Remove the blade guard.
  3. Use the provided wrenches to loosen the blade retaining nut.
  4. Carefully remove the old blade (if applicable) and install the new Ø 254 mm blade, ensuring the teeth are oriented correctly for cutting.
  5. Tighten the retaining nut securely and reattach the blade guard.

4.4 Adjusting the Parallel Guide and Table Extension

  • Attach the parallel guide to the table. Use the measurement scale for precise positioning.
  • Extend the table extensions as needed for larger workpieces (refer to Figure 3.5).

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your table saw.

5.1 Pre-Operation Checks

  • Ensure the power cord is in good condition and properly connected to a 240V power outlet.
  • Verify that the blade guard is correctly installed and functional.
  • Check that the saw blade is sharp and free from damage.
  • Clear the work area of any debris or loose items.
  • Connect a dust extractor to the dust extraction port (Figure 3.6).

5.2 Adjusting Blade Height and Angle

  • Blade Height: Use the height adjustment mechanism to set the blade height. For through cuts, the blade should extend slightly above the workpiece.
  • Blade Angle: Use the angle adjustment mechanism to tilt the blade for bevel cuts (refer to Figure 3.4). The saw can cut at angles from 0° to 45°.

5.3 Making Cuts

  • Rip Cuts (along the grain): Use the parallel guide (Figure 3.3) to set the desired width. Keep the workpiece firmly against the guide and the table. Use a push stick for the final portion of the cut.
  • Cross Cuts (across the grain): Use the cross-cut fence (if included) or an angular stop. Ensure the workpiece is stable and supported.
  • Bevel Cuts: Adjust the blade angle as required. Always perform a test cut on scrap material first.

6. Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your table saw.

  • Cleaning: After each use, disconnect the power and clean the saw of sawdust and debris. Use a brush or vacuum cleaner. Never use water or solvents.
  • Blade Inspection: Regularly inspect the saw blade for sharpness and damage. A dull or damaged blade can cause kickback and poor cut quality. Replace blades as necessary.
  • Lubrication: Periodically lubricate moving parts as indicated in the detailed product manual (if applicable).
  • Power Cord: Check the power cord for any signs of damage or wear.
  • Storage: Store the table saw in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children.
