4.4 Creating Scenes and Routines
Automate your home by creating custom scenes and routines in the BroadLink App.
- Timers: Set specific times for devices to turn on or off.
- Scenes: Combine multiple actions into a single command (e.g., a "Movie Night" scene could turn on the TV, lower the projector screen, and dim the lights).
- Triggers: Use the sensor cable's temperature and humidity data to trigger actions (e.g., turn on the AC automatically when the temperature rises above a set point).

5. Compatibility
The Broadlink RM4 Pro is designed for broad compatibility with various IR and RF devices. However, it's crucial to understand its limitations:
- IR (Infrared): Supports 38KHz IR controlled devices. Requires direct line of sight between the RM4 Pro and the appliance.
- RF (Radio Frequency): Supports 433MHz (range: 430~440MHz) RF Fixed Code controlled devices.
- Unsupported RF Types: Does NOT support RF Rolling Code, 868MHz, FSK modulation, or encrypted RF protocols. Some special curtain motors and ceiling fans may not be supported if they use these unsupported protocols.
- Wi-Fi: Requires a secured 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. 5GHz Wi-Fi and mesh networks are not supported.

6. Troubleshooting
- Device not connecting to Wi-Fi: Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz signal. Disable 5GHz temporarily during setup if your router combines both frequencies under one SSID. Check that your Wi-Fi password is correct and within the 32-character limit.
- IR devices not responding: Verify that the RM4 Pro has a clear line of sight to the IR receiver of your appliance. Obstructions can block IR signals.
- RF devices not responding: Confirm that your RF device uses a 433MHz Fixed Code. The RM4 Pro does not support rolling codes or other unsupported RF types. Consult your device's manual or manufacturer for frequency details.
- Voice control issues: Ensure your BroadLink account is correctly linked to Alexa or Google Assistant. Re-discover devices in the voice assistant app if new appliances are added or changes are made.
- Power issues: The RM4 Pro requires a 5V 1A USB adapter. Using an underpowered source may cause unstable operation.
